COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Gravity at the Guisborough Beer Festival. Black with a good tan head. Very nice cocoa aroma. The taste is quite rich with lots of coffee and chocolate and light spice. Velvety mouthfeel. Very good.

Cask at the Cask. Great UK stout what do you want me to say? You think you’re cool Danny. Really good choco berries and prunes shouting at you as you walk away. A ball hair less hoppy on cask if you push me into sweating the details. See now you made me be crude. You rascal you.

Negro opaco, espuma beis densa. Aromas tostados, chocolate, frutos rojos y cereal. Cuerpo medio y sedoso, inicio dulce débil de cereal que acaba en un amargor equilibrado y tostado.

Tuoksussa kahvia, mallasta, suklaata, paahdetta, humalaa. Hyvän näköinen. Pikimusta, reunoilta tumman ruskea. Beige vaahto, ohut, pienikuplainen. Maistuu kevyemmältä kuin näyttää. Suklaata, savua, paahdetta, maltaan makeutta, aavistus pähkinää ja kahvia. Humala taka-alalla, tasapainoinen runko. Pieni iso stout, ei tuhti, mutta ryhdikäs.

Cask at grove, huddesfield. Black with foamy tan head. Aroma is smokey and ashy with some soy and fruit, also quite ’farmy’. Taste is very ashy bitter. Medium body and light carbonation. Good stuff.

1/II/15 - on tap @ Trappistenlokaal ’t Klooster (Delft) - BB: n/a (2015-124)

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, little stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of caramel, toast, dried fruits, bit nutty, spicy, cocoa powder, rye bread, soft roastedness. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, hoppy, pretty roasted, some overripe fruits, caramel, bit of banana. Aftertaste: roasted, cocoa powder, hoppy, some coffee, bit sourish, bitter ending.

dark brown color. Superb roasted malt character in the nose but lacks a bit of depth. The mouth show excellent roastiness, dry with hint of licorice. Medium body. Excellent roasty finish. Honestly it is tough to explain why the roasted malt character is just so much superior to other stouts but it is, though it lacks the complexity that I like, it is still really great.

Draft (at Holy Grale, Louisville KY). Head is brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, roasted grain), with notes of minerals, vanillla, chalk. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A bit too doughy in the nose, but otherwise nicely balanced, simple, and enjoyable.

Soapy tan head, though creamy at the top. Aroma is roasted malts and a lump of charcoal. Taste is also roasted malts but mixed with strong coffee. Aftertaste is not as bitter as the flavour would lead you to expect.
