On tap. Pours black with low light tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, coffee, milk chocolate, brown sugar, raisins. Taste is immediate coffee bitter before a balancing chocolate sweet. Body is medium and very creamy with soft carbonation.

Lots of cocoa on the nose, nice light brown head. Thick in the mouth with a slightly powdery feel some stout has. Pretty bitter, some liquorice and embers, with a lingering aftertaste. Maybe needs a slight sweet note of dark fruit to balance it, add the bitterness is very prominent.

Nästan svart öl med beige skum. Doften är framförallt rostad malt och kaffe. Smaken är mer mångfasseterad. De rostade tonerna finns där tillsammans med mörk choklad, aska och vanilj. Något tunn kropp för ännu högre betyg.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has nootes of roasted malt, hay, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, burnt bread, and hay, leading to a bitter finish.

Fra fat på Cardinaltreff mai-13: servert rett etter Prestesonen, det ble en interesssant sammenligning. Magic Rock bruker mye am.humler iflg Sigmund, og det merkes på aromaen, som er mye mer fremtredende enn hos Prestesonen. Højt cremet, lysebrunt skum. Tørr, og god, lett syrlig smak (kan de ha brukt litt rugmalt?), men kortere ettersmak enn Prestesonen. Målfotoet viser at Kinn vant.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, large and creamy beige head. Firm roasty aroma, notes of coffee and chocolate, hints of liquorice and woodwork. Moderately roasty flavour, medium dry, with the same elements as in the aroma, followed by a distinct hoppy bitterness. Roasty and hoppy aftertaste. Well balanced and highly drinkable.

Pours a black colour with a beige creamy head. Aroma of strong roasted malts, smoke, tar and chocolate chip cookies. Flavour of strong roasted malts, salty licorice, chocolate chip cookies and tar. Medium bodied, dry, almost adhesive mouthfeel and a very round, lingering bitter finish. A rather strong stout. Great!

On tap at CPK, London. Pours a dark brown / black-ish colour with a small brown head. Aroma is roasty, chocolate and espresso notes. Taste is similar, roasty with good chocolate and espresso notes and a lingering bitterness. Slight acidity on the tongue as well. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. Very nice and tasty stout for sure.
