COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark Arts blends 4 malts and bags of whole hops to deliver a decadently deep and indulgent experience. A luxuriously smooth mouthfeel, is followed by spicy hop notes and full flavours of chocolate, liquorice, blackberries and figs. The finish is rich and satisfying with a lingering roasted bitterness. Our stout will convert you to the dark side.

Loads of roast, coffee, and delicious dark chocolate in the nose. Taste: dark chocolate, roasted malts, balancing hops.

On tap. Earthy aroma. Thick white head on a lustrous black body. Suprising, fruity, rich taste- quite unlike most other stouts Iíve had (in a good way). Very smooth mouthfeel. Excelent stout.

This is lovely. Chocolate, liquorice, dark fruit and coffee notes. I have had on keg but prefer it on cask. Hope to enjoy many pints of this over the cold months ahead!!

Bottle, Coppers8till8, Ncl. Big smoky roasted aroma, leads into a beautifully smooth full-flavoured assaualt on the tongue. This is a mighty stout, beautifully balanced, spicy hop notes come through to balance out the strong malt dominance. Definite plum and whisky characteristics. Gorgeous jet black colour and a rich dark cofee coloured head just add to the all-round beauty of this beer. Had this accompanied by some mature cheddar and toasted sourdough and what a pairing that was!

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 5th July 2011. Almost black with reddish-tinged head and some patterned lacing. Delicious burnt malts aroma. Exquisite coffee and smoke in-mouth with touches of bitter chocolate. This fine chocolatey note develops into a luxury finish. Excellent.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2011 Cask at CPK, London. Pours dark brown with a frothy, beige head. Moderate coffee aroma with hints of cocoa. Great roasted malt character, some earthy and lightly grassy bitterness, chclky cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Lightly sticky, sweet and dry finish, lightly sweet chocolate, some mocha, burnt wood. So, so easy to drink. The balance is there, the flavors are cohesive. Great beer all around. I have to say, Magic Rock has killed it with each of their beers so far. Definitely one of the top three UK breweries for me.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2012 Cask at Craft Beer. Deep black colour, aromas strongly of coffee and some black chocolate. Taste is smooth, lots of roast, coffee again, very complex yet without excessive bitterness. Very long finish. Alcoholic but not aggressively so. Excellent.
