High Wire is our tribute to the Pale Ales of the West Coast of America, beers unapologetically hop forward in character. Let your taste buds walk this test of balance. Mango, lychee and lip-smacking grapefruit flavours harmonise against a smoothly composed malt base, which develops into a crisply bitter finish. Are you ready for our tightrope of taste. .?

4oz pour at Churchkey. Pours a hazy gold with some filmy white head. Nose is oddly soapy, almost a little industrial, some citrus peel, a little herbal, some sweet fruit lurking. Thankfully the flavor is better, some lemon and grapefruit, some pineapple, lychee, still some soap but palatable, a little beeswax. Soapy finish.

Tap @ naamat. Pours slightly hazy orange with a small head. Citrus and soap in the aroma. Soapy hops in the flavour. A bit unbalanced.

A mid orange yellow coloured beer, weak head. A light hop aroma, and a unexpected nuttiness. The taste is a strange but enjoyable combination of grassy hop flavours and a maltiness that's reminiscent of peanuts! The finish has elements of both lasting through it. Tasted at the 2013 Norwich CAMRA beer festival. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @Cimmeria. Fruity, citrus, hoppy aromas. Pours clear gold, with nice white head, persistent, some lacing. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is citrus, fruity, some peachy. Smooth, quaffable, balanced, enjoyable. Dry aftertaste. Nice one.

Snifter on tap at Neonís. Hazy, sort of darker orange color. Thin off-white head, few ropes of lace. Nice, smooth crisp carbonation. Medium body. More dry finish. Good toasty malt aroma, light caramel. I actually like this more than the Carnival. It doesnít try to feature the hops as a primary showcase, actually has an interesting malt profile to carry it. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, minimal sweet. Drinks like a solid American pale ale, good flavor for the lighter ABV. I enjoyed this more than expected.

[10/2/13] Cask at Southampton Arms in London. Clear golden color. Hoppy aroma, citric, tropical and piney. Rather dry flavor with fruity hops and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Nice.

2013-10-19. Crisp orange amber body with a small frothy white head. Aroma is odd and grassy, and a little bit poopy at times. Flavour is much better, mildly bitter grassy hop character, moderate bitterness. Average bodied palate, low carbonation. Did not care for it, giving it the benefit of the doubt Iím assuming it did not travel well. Session 1, Cask Days 2013, Toronto

Bright golden orange colour. Aroma is piney resin, quite tight. Taste is pine resin too and a little grapefruit (but not much). Very tight and mouth-puckeringly bitter but a nice balance with maltyness. Punches above its 5.5% abv.
