COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
High Wire is our tribute to the Pale Ales of the West Coast of America, beers unapologetically hop forward in character. Let your taste buds walk this test of balance. Mango, lychee and lip-smacking grapefruit flavours harmonise against a smoothly composed malt base, which develops into a crisply bitter finish. Are you ready for our tightrope of taste. .?

A lovely beer - served from tap at The Cock, Hackney - quite dark amber for a pale ale, with beautiful vanilla aroma and flavour as it enters the mouth, a lovely fruity flavour in the mouth and a grapefruit / light marmalade aftertaste. Thoroughly recommended, and not too strong either, at 5.6%.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2013 Cold bottle from Mybrewerytap, came in the post today. My first Magic Rock beer, but this one is probably past its best - BBE May 2013. That’s what I get for buying online. Lovely golden colour, white head doesn’t endure for more than a minute. Smell is faint. Not much in the taste either - watery, indistinct floral and fruity notes. Although I’m sure this beer is good when fresh, I have to rate it as it is now.

Had this loads of times, lovely floral hoppy nose with grapefruit and citrus more subdued on cask than keg but still a good ale.

Bottle. This is a nice APA from a producer you would not expect. Picked this up form a premium bottle shop in edinburgh.

The selection of beers made it hard to choose just one given the time constraints. I settled on this after having tried two Magic Rock beers earlier in the week. For something that is only 5.5% ABV it sure packs a punch.

Aroma / Appearance - Crisp citrus, grass clippings, and freshly pulled weeds emerge from a bronze body. The color of polished pennies, it retains only a small head.

Flavor / Palate - The weedy taste merges with the tang of copper pennies almost immediately. The finish holds on to this hop bite just as well as any competently made American-based pale ale. In fact this straddles that fine line between APA and IPA. An excellent tap and well worth seeking out in England.

Great aroma, citrus, pine and grassy hops - really strong. Tastes great too, dry bitter hops with citrus and exotic fruits coming through, refreshing and very easy drinking for the abv. Fantastic beer.

25.05.2013, tap @ HaandFestival: Small shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly cats piss, leafs, grass, dried fruits. Taste is slightly neutral grassy, leafs, hay, heather, wood. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Boring.
