Meet Cannonball’s big brother; we used more malt, more hops and more magical conjuring to crank up the flavour of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’. Get your taste buds ready for massive pine and candied orange aromas combined with bitter/sweet grapefruit and mango flavours all complemented by a deeply composed, satisfyingly malty base. Ever wondered what it feels like to be shot out of a cannon? Here’s what it tastes like…

Very misty golden body, tapped with minimal head. Explosion of hops, citrus, grapefruit, lychee. Very well carbonated, cutting though a thick layer of bitterness. Super yummy and satisfying. (On tap at North Bar Leeds)

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours hazy amber. Nose is intense pine, fruits, orange, sweetish toffee. Taste is quite strong, exotic fruits, passionfruit, light zest nad orange. Finish is fruity bitterness, warming alcohol.

Tap at Craft Beer Co. Pours clear pale amber with an inch of dense head. Aroma is impressive pine, meadow, grapefruit, candied orange, mango, juicy and dank citrus and faint tropical fruit. Taste is creamy orange and grapefruit followed by sweet and creamy caramel malt. Some booze. Spot-on Pliny clone and might actually outdo the original – really impressive, and probably the best European riff on the DIPA style I’ve encountered.

Keg at The Victoria, Birmingham. Pale ale. Fruity aroma. Full flavoured citrus and banana turns to biting alcohol, ginger, Jelly Babies. Burns the tongue. Like.

Keg at sheffield tap. Slightly is to yellow with V lacy white head. Aroma of lemon, lychee and grapefruit. Taste is crisp and refreshing, very bitter and nice hum of alcohol. A little over carbonated for my taste, but good sticky medium body saves it. Good stuff.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2015 Keg. Light hazy copper with a medium sized white head. Tropical fruits and some cheese in the nose. Starts soft and sweet, I find the flavours hard to describe in human language. The balance is good for this type of beer, not too sweet and the bitterness is not too abrasive, neither is the alcohol. So that part works, but the flavour is a mess of sugary malt, cheese, and some honey/light sweet fruit in one big clusterfick.

On tap at What’s Brewing. A finger-thick off-white head sits on top of an almost clear, golden-orange body. Pine cones, citrus peel and orange in the aroma. Some pale malts in the back. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, dry and quite bitter. There’s some malty sweetness going on, but the hops have the leading role, giving both fruity and piney flavors and a fine bitterness. Lasting finish with fruityness and bitterness. A refreshing one, at least considering the ABV, tasteful too. 141031

330ml bottle from The Beerhive. Good sized white head, good lacing, hazy golden amber body. Nose is mango, pineapple, caramel. Flavour is citrus, sherbet, grass, pine, then treacle and caramel, masses of bitterness on the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thick, a little oily and sticky, light carbonation. Ooft. This is a big beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

strong spruce and pine aromafrom a cloudy gold body with a creamy head that vanishes quickly, strong pine flavour but the finish is so dry it made me wish i had somthing to sip between sips.
