Bottle, Best Western Marina Hotel, Dover, 12/02/12. Needless to say the hotel didn’t provide me with this one. Muddy ruby, fine lacing beige. Floral hop, earthy malt aroma with butter, coffee, cinder toffee. Good background tropical and grapefruit hop. Nutty, bitter floral hop flavour with oily, chocolate orange, walnut notes. Hot metal and green hop burps. A bit washy. Liquorice, digestives. Drinks like a concentrate of Shep Neame Spitfire.

Bottle. Hazy amber with white head. Pine and resin hop aroma. Flavour is much the same with a solid maltiness and some fruit notes. Pretty, pretty good.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, bought @ Mybrewerytap.
Pours fairly muddy amber with a lovely, staying, cream-coloured, cremy head. Aroma has lovely spiciness, pine, grapefruit, light ashy toasted caramel, some resin and light sweetness. Medium carbonation, good dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour has dusty caramel malts, some resin, a tad yeasty, some rhubarb, citrus. Fairly bitter finish with some grainy malts. Certainly not Magic Rock’s best effort, but still good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Off cask. Very pale for an amber ale. A slightly less hoppy version of 5am saint but still nice.

Bottle from MyBrewerytap.com. Pours hazy dark amber with a huge creany off-white head. Aroma of lovely fruity and grassy hops. Taste is fresh and crisp fruity and resiny hops, pinecones and grass, very dry and tasty. Lingering strong mint, a good one.

Handpull at Craft Beer Co. Very drinkable red ale that, and i cant believe iam saying this, is just too hoppy. Good hoppy lovely hoppy but hops dominate the malts too much
