Rapture is our full bodied, heavenly hoppy red beer. 5 types of malt and 6 types of hops make for a truly elating experience. Uplifting aromas of grapefruit and pine, combine with a pithy orange and pronounced citrus flavour which is balanced against a deeply rich and malty body. A satisfyingly dry and crisp finish offers your taste buds redemption. Our red ale will take you to heaven and back…

It looks great - lovely chestnut colour and a nice, but quick dying head. Perhaps it was because I had it after the Cannonball and High Wire, but it found it a bit lightweight. There were some toffee notes in there and a bit of toffee/caramel taste, and it’s not a bad beer by any stretch of the imagination, it’s just that my personal taste runs to hoppy, often US beers.

33cl bottle thanks to Chris Mair! Pours light chestnut with an orange hue. There is a nice head but it mostly disappears in the first couple of minutes. The nose has some raisin malt but is mostly pine and grapefruit pith. The taste has more grapefruit and pith with not sweet malt to talk of. The palate has a medium body and texture with a very fresh and zingy finish. Overall, it’s a good beer for the hopheads, but it needs a little more malt sweetness for me, so it is very flavoursome but lacks balance.

Cask@Craft Beer Co, London. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, syrup and some slight spicy notes. Flaavour is wood, rather dry bitterness, some hops and mmild syrupy notes as well.

Cask at CBC, London. Dark amber pour with a light, tan head. Has a big, raw and fresh hop aroma, some grapefruit and pine. Medium sweet with toasty malts, lots of bitterness, very resinous pine, mild earth, some grapefruit, light grass. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky, resiny hop finish, some toasted sugars and malts, justs lots of raw hops. I love this stuff.

Bottle at home, cask at Sheffield Tap 20/07/11. Hoppy amber ale? Get in there! It’s an almost-there beer; caramel is spiked with slight spice, finish is dry and not cloying, flavours assertive and not clashing, hops prominent but not dominant. Just up everything another notch on the dial, lads, and you’ve got an amber that everyone will want to clone.

Bottle at home. Deep copper amber pour, small bubbly tan head. Nose is big pine, grapefruit. Hint of toffee. Delightful smooth caramel on the taste, quickly matched by lovely, massively refreshing orange/grapefruit hops. Really nicely balanced, good hoppy session beer. Yum.

Draughts at The White Horse (London). Very well balanced indeed, was popular around the table. Good enough to pull me away from the good cask selection for a couple of pints.

On tap at Magic Rock launch night, North Bar, Leeds. Pours a very nice red with. Aroma of sweetness and hops, very nicely balanced, actually. Taste is toffee-ish, with lots of hops. Very nicely balanced. Fruity, too. Drinkable. Very nice and balanced, though I prefer the fuller taste of 5AM Saint.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. An amber/red coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes of caramel, malty, fruity. Rather thin for my liking.

another solid brew here, fresh from santa sleigh, nice red session ale with a healthy dose of sweet fruity hops. Very drinkable and still tasty and medium bodied. very nice for a darker but still refreshing session ale.
