Cask @ Brudenell, Leeds. Ruby red body. Citric orange/grapefruit notes, pine and sweet malts on the nose. Caramel/biscuit notes come to the fore in the taste, providing a solid backbone for the tangy hops. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Great session beer.

Small glass served from tap at Schouskjelleren. Reddish-orange coloured body. Lasting layer, totally blanketing the glass. Aroma of apricot and pine. Fresh malt-fruity taste including notes of grapefruits, orange, resin with mid-sweet malts benaeth. Rounded bitter ending. Fine session qualities (happy drinking in friendly company with Hege and OleR in Oslo during a Saturday afternoon, 15.09.2012).

On cask at Old Fountain. It pours amber with a cream-coloured. Aroma has lovely spiciness, pine, grapefruit, light ashy toasted caramel, some resin and light sweetness. Medium carbonation, good dry and fairly light mouthfeel. Flavour has dusty caramel malts, some resin, a tad yeasty, some rhubarb, citrus. Fairly bitter finish with some grainy malts. Overall, nothing special but honest brew.

On tap at Craft Beer Co, Brighton. Ruby red with a minimal head. A big hoppy flavour with wood, sultanas, malt and liquorice. Smokey aroma. Packs a punch for the ABV.

From cask @ CASK Pub & Kitchen, London. This is a glowing blurry burgundy-red beer with a medium sized off-white head. It has a light malty and fruity aroma. I get tones of caramel , chocolate malts and dried fruits. Quite a nice little aroma. It’s soft on the old CO2, and it feels mildly oily in the mouth. The taste is also malty and caramel-fruity. Some ripe red apple-bitterness in the background blended with a drop of peach. Tasty and quite enjoyable. 22.07.2012

My favourite style of ale, and thankfully Magic Rock knows such an ale is best on cask. It is a lovely red in colour with sublime malt sweetness and rich fruits.

Pours a beautiful red with a solid head and lacing.
Caramel with loads of red fruits, grapefruits, and pine. Quite hoppy for an amber. Magic Rock just doesn’t make bad beer (or beer any less than superb, for that matter)
