3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, Coppers8til8, Newcastle. Beautiful heady aroma of fresh hops, pine and grapefruit, with a hint of resin to it. Clean smooth palate, with dryness on the back of the throat, lovely rounded mouthfeel, some faint woody characteristics, overall a stonkingly good read ale from a fine brewery.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. Deep copper amber pour, small bubbly tan head. Nose is big pine, grapefruit. Hint of toffee. Delightful smooth caramel on the taste, quickly matched by lovely, massively refreshing orange/grapefruit hops. Really nicely balanced, good hoppy session beer. Yum.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home, cask at Sheffield Tap 20/07/11. Hoppy amber ale? Get in there! It’s an almost-there beer; caramel is spiked with slight spice, finish is dry and not cloying, flavours assertive and not clashing, hops prominent but not dominant.
Just up everything another notch on the dial, lads, and you’ve got an amber that everyone will want to clone.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAY 31, 2012 Cask at the Horsehoe NW3. Slightly unusual - looks like a full coloured reddish brown ale but nose shows strong citrusy hopping. Bitter taste with grapefruit in the hops and a good firm malty background. Long finish. A very good pint - possibly a touch one-dimensional in the bitter hoppiness?
