Rapture is our full bodied, heavenly hoppy red beer. 5 types of malt and 6 types of hops make for a truly elating experience. Uplifting aromas of grapefruit and pine, combine with a pithy orange and pronounced citrus flavour which is balanced against a deeply rich and malty body. A satisfyingly dry and crisp finish offers your taste buds redemption. Our red ale will take you to heaven and back…

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Arrived in the glass with a coat of reddy amber with a steadily fading white head. The nose revealed plenty of grassy hop in addition to notes of citrus/orange, a little spice and sweet malts. Similar themes continued on into the flavour with some fruity notes and a drying bitter finish. Decent enough but not the best offering from this stable.

31.7.2014. Dark amber colour. Aroma of orange hops, grass, pine Palate is soft, low carbonation. Tastes ripe fruits, earthy hops, pine, caramel malts. Despite low abv and real ale style this is tasty.

Tap, not that fresh. Hazy amber, medium beige head. Nose I smooth caramel and malt, flowery hops. Flavor is malt and caramel, hop notes. Finishes with buttery caramel, flowery hop bitterness. Lingering hops. I suspect this would be pretty nice when fresh. Still, nicely quaffable.

Tap at Toit’s City, Tallinn. Pours amber with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is fruits, mango, berries, burnt sugar, and malt. Flavor follows the nose. Body is rather thin. Overall: doesn’t feel fresh, but otherwise ok.

[330ml bottle] Chestnut reddish brown pour, again almost totally flat after an initial flurry. Very inviting bitter hoppy aromas, sweet caramel in there as well, quite floral. Tastewise the immediate comparison was BrewDog’s 5am Saint – they are very similar. However, Rapture isn’t as hoppy, the malts have more say – reasonably sweet, but not overly so, the woody notes compete with the piney hops – and the end result is pretty pleasing. I got a bit of smoke in the aftertaste as well, which was interesting [11082011]

Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe. Amber with a moderate off-white head. Big fresh hop taste of pine and berries and orange well balanced against sweet malts. Great full-flavoured beer.

Cask - The Southampton Arms, London. Fine & bubbly lasting beige head atop a cloudy, ruddy amber body. Fresh & vibrant grapefruit, peach, strawberry & pine aromas. Pine, gently resinous & grapefruit flavour profile. Cracking depth for the ABV in my book. Nice contrast between an initial juiciness and a finishing dryness. Soft, rounded & firm mouthfeel, gently spritzy crisp carbonation, medium body, big lingering zesty grapefruit bitter finish with a hint of mid berry in the aftertaste. Plenty to offer without going overboard & remaining effortlessly drinkable.
