3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg @ Euston Tap, Euston, London. Yellow gold, small white head with decent lacing. Muted aroma of citrus and oatmeal. The taste is where this beer’s at: a hard citrus sour is followed by a pronounced bitterness attacking the front of the mouth, while further sourness settles in the back. The margarita saltiness kicks in with the finish and aftertaste. An impressive rendition of a rare style, and it excels on its own merit.

Draft - Pale malt and very light citrus grain. Clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet tart berry, salt is light and a clean finish. A little soap, but overall refreshing and nice.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Keg in Pivni, York. Pours hazy blond with a white head. Shocklingly sour and salty at first. Lots of gooseberry flavour. This is a full flavoured beer, but it just wasn’t pleasant to drink. Just too salty for me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg Euston Tap London 18/03/14. A hazy olive/diarrhoea coloured beer with a white head and lace. Sour and quenching. The nose is a bit thin. Sour and salty in the mouth. Funky fruit. Doesn’t have the drinkability of the lime version but it’s OK in small measures.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Beachwood Brewing. Hazed orange colored beer with a small white head. Nose is nice and tangy. Slightly salty, tropical, citric aroma. Lemon zest, unripe berries, and a bit of a briny funk. A good tartness/twang to the palate. Lemon and lime acidity along with some unripe berry and sour melon. Light saltiness, green olive brine, and a subtle bready sweetness. Pretty decent beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Brewdog Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of gassy bubbles. The aroma is light yeast, light citrus. The flavour is light sour with a tart gooseberry citrus, slightly watery palate. Medium to light bodied with fizzy carbonation. An interesting experiment. Very refreshing and nothing dominates on the plus side but on the downside it is lacking flavour. It’s just a watery light sour and not much else. Would I buy another? Probably not, but mainly because there are better examples out there.
