A collaboration brew with Kissmeyer Beer. A traditional German style Gose, flavoured with Gooseberries, Sea Buckthorn and Sea Salt. Tart, lightly sour, fruity and refreshing with a defined saltiness, excellent accompaniment to food.

Tap at Brewdog Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of gassy bubbles. The aroma is light yeast, light citrus. The flavour is light sour with a tart gooseberry citrus, slightly watery palate. Medium to light bodied with fizzy carbonation. An interesting experiment. Very refreshing and nothing dominates on the plus side but on the downside it is lacking flavour. It’s just a watery light sour and not much else. Would I buy another? Probably not, but mainly because there are better examples out there.

Tap at Iron Abbey. Hazy golden thin white head. Minimal nose. Light and crisp. Lemony and citrus notes. Pretty nice starter brew or on a hot day.

On tap @ Nya Tröls. Light on the aromas, some honey, melon and citrus. The taste is acidic with a distinct saltiness and a strong hint of green grapes (or gooseberries).

Golden with a a thin white head. Sweet with a tart, sour finish. Plenty of fruit, gooseberries. Thin, watery texture. More like a cider than a beer. I kind of get it, but it’s not really my cup of tea.

Not much on the nose of this one but it does make up for it on the palate. Citrus fruits and salt with some banana (un-ripe), refreshing.

Tap på GH. Tips från den unge Hoffback. Diskret humle i doften och lite spannmål. Frisk doft. Möjligen svaga brettinslag. Härlig lacto och ättika i smaken. Sticker precis lagom. Viss skillnad mot andra bärs i samma stil. Känner inget koriander som jag annars gjort av andra Gose. Ny favorit. Frisk och lättdrucken.

Growler (Tru Bru, Sth Yarra). Hazy orange with a large white head - pretty, well worth washing the kölsch glass for. Aroma of very mildly funky wheat, lemon, goosegogs, sour oranges. Slightly lactic mouthfeel makes it seem pretty full-bodied for 4.1%. Fruity with berries, lemon, orange - a little sweetness, moderate tartness that builds a little. No bitterness. A little salt. Elegant, refreshing.

On tap at The Scratch. Not as tart or as sour as I expected but still pretty damn good. First beer with gooseberries in it.
