Pouring at The Festival in Portland with Kramer, Andrew, and J-Dadmond. Pours a hazed gold with a large white head. Soft herbal notes, light wheat. Lightly salty, with soft chewy wheat notes coming though. Toast and wheat into a long gentle finish. Absolutely lovely, and super sessionable.

Bottle at The Festival. Pours hazy pale yellow with a medium, frothy white, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is salty wheat malt, earthy hops and barnyard yeast notes. Flavor is spicy wheat malt, salt, farmhouse yeast and a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

Quite delicious! Nicely cloudy.Tastes like a cross between a full on gueuze and a tangy wheat beer. Not terribly aromatic, but a lovely sharp taste of lemon zest and refreshers over sweet and malt fading to a dry sustained finish that hangs around in the mouth. Not too tart, in fact another perfectly balanced beer from magic rock!

Keg at Euston Tap, London. A cloudy golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sour, yeasty, citrus aroma. Tastes similar, sour, citrus fruit, yeasty, slightly dry and definite salty hints. Interesting if not really my thing.

Keg at The Cock. It pours cloudy golden with a small white head. The nose is salty beach, earth, light fruitiness and hay. The taste is wheat, smooth tartness, gooseberry, lemon pith, salt, earth and bread with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Refreshing and well balanced. Tasty stuff.

Old Fountain. Thanks to Leighton for getting this one. Cloudy gold beer, little white head. Light palate, a little dry and crispy. Nice tart Gooseberry start. Just a trace of salt. Turns drier and creamier. Mild white wine sourness in the finish which is semi dry. Well conceived and tasty beer.

Takeaway bottle filled from keg at Great Grog, Edinburgh. Murky orange pour. Aroma is great: lots of citrus, sweet peach, sea salt, lightly fragranced soapiness, and lemon rind. Taste is unreal, just wonderful: peach, light tropical flavours, sea salt, tart lemon rind, defined (slightly funky) fruity sourness. So well balanced. Lingering sea saltiness and lemon rind tartness on the palate. So incredibly refreshing. Jesus, this is a cracker of a beer, one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

Kegerator bottle from great grog. Fresh and fruity on the nose, with a strong sour taste upfront and a salty kick to finish. Really interesting beer, the first sour beer I’ve enjoyed!

Fizzy and fruity funk nose, slight lemon cheesecake vibe with a hazy light witbeir body and white sheath of a foamy head. There’s a weird pink lemonade pucker to the initial taste, before crisp salty popcorn crunch of a backbone before a good sookering sour finish.
Interesting contrast throughout, smells like it will be much more of a fresh floral palate soother but plays out in a very refreshing and beyond grapefruit quench by the end, salt vibe is very well rubbed into the rest of the mix. I don’t know much about Gooseberries to pick them out clearly, but there’s an almost dry white wine level of palate prep here, really should have had many slabs of Charcuterie to make full use of this.

Keg, Friends Of Ham, Leeds
