3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
660ml bottle from Ales By Mail. Very thick golden appearance, small sticky foam. Aroma of some overdone fruits and bit of alcohol. Taste follows aroma.. Stiff package to drink alone :-)
Changing scores to down, goes for the worse direction.. If drinkin only one glass I think this could get better points? Dunno.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Cloudy, dark orange. Film of white head. Tinned mandarin. Muscovado sugar. Light pithiness. Light caramel. Taste is spicy, Christmas cake sweetness. Light dryness. Thick, chewy palate. Plenty of bitterness on the finish. I liked this a lot.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Ales by Mail. Orangey gold looks with a meek white head. Sweet malts, booze and fruits evident in the beak. Similarly boozy sweet flavour with some hop bitterness and wood notes. Lacked a bit of finesse somehow. Magic Rock have set such a high standard that I was hoping this would be spectacular which it isn’t quite.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very difficult to open due to the wax on the cork. Bronze with lots of body but not as much flavour as I expected. Still a good example of this style although more depth would be appreciated.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not a great smell in fact quite off putting on the nose. Great in the mouth, fruity with a very slight flower note at the end. I’m hopping that with two bottles in the cupboard this improves with age

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dense, hazy golden cloud and ringed thick laced head. Fairly bloody bright and zesty hoppy nose. Bright but tense bitter lemon and lacking in the actual richness. Loose limey rich backicking and trades up to a rich, hateful foamy finish. Halfway through the bottle, warmed up it got better. Bit of a boozy finish. I hope this will improve with age, at least in sweet or richness.
Bottle, November Tasting.
