4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (6955) - London, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2012
Keg at King Bill IV, London during the Magic Rock event. Pours rich, amber-brown with a tight, creamy tan cap. Nose holds dirty earth and pine, toasty bread, toasty grass. Medium sweet flavor with lots of pine, earth and dirt, some burnt grass, rich toasted brown bread, very light dried berries. Medium bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Moderately resinous finish with toasted pine, dry berries, mild warmth, rich brown bread. Good and ballsy.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2012
Half- pint, keg beer, served chilled at BrewDog Camden. Slightly unclear, dark brown body. Bubbly, tan-coloured head. Rings of lacing down the glass. Aroma of bitter liquorice and dark, mid-sweet malts. Blended flavour of apricot and liquorice bitterness. Bitter dried fruity ending. Nice but quite heavy to drink (London, 06.11.2012).

26th November 2012 Euston Tap. Cloudy rto muddy red brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Not a pretty beer! Smooth semi soft palate with fine minerally carbonation. Very creamy malt with a streak of grain. Big skunky hops. Traces of citrus and red berry fruits. Finishes smooth and semi dry. On the face of it this should be a very good beer. But it’s a little to grainy and the hops a bit too skunk dominant Still not bad though!

On tap, deep red pour with a small head. Malty and fruity hops, the defining aroma characteristic is a nutty note which was quite unusual, big alcohol kick. Nice beer

Keg @ The Euston Tap. The pour’s hazy reddish brown with a tiny off-white head. The nose is tangy cherry meat, a bit of fruit squash, plenty of acerbic grassy countryside aromas. The taste is big tropical fruits (mango and pineapple) balanced by some rich nuts and piss-soaked wood. Quite bitter on the finish. Medium body, a sipper. Overall, another good brew from Magic Rock.

Keg @ BrewDog Aberdeen 261112
Reddish copper amber, clear, off white head, good lacing
Aroma - fruity caramel malts, orange, grassy hops, some fruity red berries, soft citrus hops, resinous hops
Taste - caramel malts, rich malt here, bitter herbal note, grassy hops touch of nettles, some citrus hops, lots of malt here, fruity caramel, touch of toffee, caramel toffee taste a bit like the stuff they coat popcorn
Palate - soft to medium carb, fairly oily. Finish - bitter grassy hop linger with a touch of caramel scorched toffee
Overall - Another good beer from Magic Rock but not one of their best - a tad malty for me but that just my own preference

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 FaithHealer1 (330) - SCOTLAND - NOV 23, 2012
Keg at Arcadia, Leeds. Pours a deep ruby, finger of slightly bubbly head. Aroma is all the good youd expect, caramely malt and cloves/spice. Taste is initially a little sweet, with a caramel/sherbet thing found on, before it expands into a hoppy balloon of bliss. The malt balances it brilliantly (dominating is too strong a phrase), with a nice spicy, clovey note as well as little sweetness. The way this expands on the palate is really impressive, and right up my street. Magic Rock are yet to properly disappoint me: this is a stunner.

simply stunning.
wonderful deep red hue. big pillowy head.
aromas of all kinds of fruit, strawberry, mango, cherry.
tastes all the above with pine and a touch of sherbert. obviously a great malty flavour comes through.
wonderfully think mouthfeel, tart & slightly sour bitter finish.
keg @ sheffield tap
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nocturne (381) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 4, 2012
Draught at BrewDog Manchester. Hazy red with a fluffy white cap. Aroma begins with a big hit of red berries on the nose followed by caramelly malt cutting through from below. Taste packs in more red fruit, citrus and and sherbet, but the combined effect of very bitter hops and malt tasting progressively more burnt makes this one tough to sink. Very well put together but just too heavy and brutal for me to really enjoy on this occasion.
