A collaboration with the Fabulous Brodies Beers of London, in true Brodies style we brewed a fruity twist on a modern classic . An all pale malt body and balanced bitterness creates the background to let the fruit shine. We added loads of richly sweet mangos in the boil and again in fermentation to accentuate the tropical fruity character of the Citra hops added in the hop back and in conditioning. Deeply fruity yet deliciously crisp and satisfying, all hail The Great Alphonso!

Tap. Sheffield Tap. Opaque gold. Bubbly, thin, sticky, white head. Big, ripe mango. Also peach, and ripe pear. Very tropical. Punchy citra hit, too. Fresh and zesty. Taste is peachy sweet, first off, then pithy bitter. A little dryness on the back end. Fresh, zesty, juicy palate. Finishes a little dry, with a soft bitter close. A beery cocktail feel to it. The half I had was very drinkable, but I’m not sure I’d fancy more than that.

Keg. Fuzzy hazy yellow orange sunset ale with a decent fluffy white cloud. Nose is heavy mango. A little tangerine. Fruits a plenty. In the mouth there?s a malt balance and then TONS of mango and lemon and tangerine and fruit fruit fruit. Finish is solid malt holding in fruits. Long lasting and quenching. Yummy.

Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours golden with a light haze, thin white head. Aromas of citrus and resin, verging on the sweaty but just missing. Taste is juicy fruits, mango coming through. Sweet, and a little thin, but very nice overall.

Huddersfield Beer Festival. Mango coloured and very hoppy. Although the mango isn’t initially evident it is there and becomes evident in its aftertaste.

Cask at porterhouse Dublin. Hazy gold. Mango nose, light citrus, some bread and yeast. Dried mango taste, not as juicy as I wanted, tasty orange and grapefruit; bit of spruce in there. Light bready malt. Good balance. Pretty nice. Just didn't sing to me as I hoped it would.
