COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, special
This time we’ve made a beer to celebrate one of the greatest double acts know to man/woman... Bikes & Beer!
As you might have heard in 2014 Leeds is hosting the Grand Depart of The Tour de France and we thought it’d be nice to mark the occasion with a super refreshing, extra fruity session pale ale.
We’ve given ourselves plenty of time to perfect the beer by launching it at this years Leeds International Beer Festival which starts next Thursday 5th September and is held at the site of next years official start to the Tour, Leeds Town Hall...
The beer is a 3.9% extra pale ale using golden promise malt and dry hopped with both English and US hops, it should be perfect re-hydration after a hard day on the bike!
If you’re wondering about the name...
"magic spanner The situation where a mechanic in a support vehicle will appear to be making adjustments to the bike but in reality they are giving fatigued riders a break by holding onto the car and getting a massive push-off when the commissaires get too close."

Cask at The Sussex Arms Twickenham. Subtle aromas of tropical mangoes. Slightly hazy, but great lacing on the glass. Restrained bitterness in perfect balance with the fruitiness from the hops. Malt flavours to a minimum. Mouthfeel a little thin but just enough body. Very enjoyable restrained and subtle flavours, thanks Magic Rock.

Cask ale, third pint measure, at the Sportsman in Huddersfield. Clear golden coloured body. Tiny head, solid lacing to the upper part of the glass. Lemony hops on the nose. Pineapples and lemony flavours followed by a mild fruit bitter ending, mid-dry. Easy to drink. Satisfying. (09.07.2014).

Tap at Westow House 01/07/14. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a white head. Lovely peachy, apricot aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. This is lovely. There a peachiness, lemon, white bread, tiny hint of honey, a little grass. So drinkable, really great summer beer.
