Once a year we receive the latest crop of hops from the US, intensely aromatic and bursting with potential they’re begging to be put to work. With three times the quantity of hops of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’ and even more than our flagship Double IPA ‘Human Cannonball’ we’ve created a fitting tribute to the new hop release with this our annual homage to the hop. ‘Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavor and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world. We’ve done our best for the hops don’t let them down by aging this beer, please drink as soon as Un-Humanly possible!

Bottle. Pours a dense cloudy golden orange with a thin lasting lacy off white head. Aroma is of oranges, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, pine. Taste is of oranges, exotic fruits, pine, grapefruit, peppery finish. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Pours slightly hazy orange with thin white head. Aroma is dry pine hops with a hint of oak and passion fruit. Very faint hint of funk/Brett. Taste is more barley wine with good carbonation rather tag hoppy ipa. I expected more. Good carbonation for the ABV and great mouth feel for an IPA. There is a hint of tropical fruit with dry, semi bitter finish.

Bottle. Nose is pleasant but muted for the style: malt, marmalade, honey, booze, gentle tropical fruits. Taste is marmalade, pine, leading to pineapple, hints of lychee, tropical juice, then a bone dry resin finish. Moutfeel is slick. It’s a very nice beer, but such is the volume of high quality DIPA in the North of England in 2016, it doesn’t have the impact it would have had, had I drank it 5 years ago.

A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of malt, fish, and petroleum. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemons, over ripe fruits, yeast, and grass, leading to a dry finish.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a big white head. Massive tropical fruit aromas that follow through to the taste, along with resinous pine, caramel malt... assertive bitterness, not too sweet. Fantastic beer.

Aroma: resin, intense tropical fruits, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, pine. Appearance: hazy gold, small, creamy, white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: bitters intensify, overripe tropical fruits, heavy sweets emerging, yet very intense bitterness prevailing, grapefruit, resin, pine, very dry and bitter finish. Overall: very nice IIPA, intense, complex, yet not quite with some of the other recent IIPA releases. Bottle from Independent Spirit, Bath.
