Once a year we receive the latest crop of hops from the US, intensely aromatic and bursting with potential they’re begging to be put to work. With three times the quantity of hops of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’ and even more than our flagship Double IPA ‘Human Cannonball’ we’ve created a fitting tribute to the new hop release with this our annual homage to the hop. ‘Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavor and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world. We’ve done our best for the hops don’t let them down by aging this beer, please drink as soon as Un-Humanly possible!

Nocturne (1379) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015
Keg at PSBH, Manchester. Very hazy yellow. Short white head. Aroma is more delicate than expected. Floral notes. Deeply fruity, citrussy, grapefruit-led taste. Straw, sugary caramel malt. Ending with strong bitterness. Fairly thick and rich but pretty drinkable for the strength. Fell a bit short of the hype but could easily go up against US hop monsters and hold its own.

Keg at the bat. Cloudy pale yellow, white head. Tropical fruity nose and faint cheese. Oily and full body. Grapefruit, mango. Really not what I expected. Good but more raw than other stablemates.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours surprisingly pale yellow, hazy. Nose is intense tropical fruits, citrus, mango, sth sweet as well. Taste is strong and a bit boozy, pine, grapefruit, slight exotic fruit notes. I am not as big fan of these very strong IPAs as I used to be.

Bottle at home. Aroma past its best but there’s some fried mango and tropical juice. Light body, small white head. Medium carbonation, oily. Deep tangy fruit, passion fruit, mango, lemon, lime, lightly sweet but offset by hops. Dry finish.

Keg at BD Shepherd’s Bush tap takeover, London. It pours a burnt orange peel color with a tiny white head. Aroma is monstrously bold and juicy with loads of tropical fruit notes, sweet sugary notes and some resiny hops. Taste is again very bold, rich in oily hoppy juicy tropical fruit notes, caramel, toffee, burnt sugar, marsh mellows. Finishes bitter and intense. Mouthfeel if sticky with full body and soft carbonation. Overall, it’s a monster of a beer and one to share, but certainly very tasty

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grassy nettle hop. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a smooth woody resin nettle hop bitter palate. It’s all about the hops and the alcohol and the alcohol is pretty well hidden considering the ABV.
