Once a year we receive the latest crop of hops from the US, intensely aromatic and bursting with potential they’re begging to be put to work. With three times the quantity of hops of our explosive IPA ‘Cannonball’ and even more than our flagship Double IPA ‘Human Cannonball’ we’ve created a fitting tribute to the new hop release with this our annual homage to the hop. ‘Un-Human Cannonball ‘takes IPA to another dimension balancing massive citric aroma, deep tropical fruit flavor and gravity defying drinkability to deliver a hop experience that is out of this world. We’ve done our best for the hops don’t let them down by aging this beer, please drink as soon as Un-Humanly possible!

UPDATED: APR 24, 2014 Golden body, with small fleeting off-white head. Aroma is wonderfully intense. Fresh dank hops, grapefruit, mango, pine, some sweet caramel malt. Soft carbonation, with silky medium/full body. Quite sweet initial burst, with peach, citrus, pine, alcohol before a moderate-bitterness takes hold. Very dank. Sweet malt balances the beer beautifully. A little short on the finish for my palate but lovely nevertheless. Nice and fresh in taste and flavor. Chewy and luscious, with a slight nudge from the alcohol. Quality big beer. Did not disappoint.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a big foam head that doesn’t last long. Aroma is filled with tropical fruits. This smells amazing. Flavour is hoppy with plenty of tropical fruit. Lovely bitter finish. A great beer!

Aroma: resin, intense tropical fruits, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, pine. Appearance: hazy gold, small, creamy, white head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: bitters intensify, overripe tropical fruits, heavy sweets emerging, yet very intense bitterness prevailing, grapefruit, resin, pine, very dry and bitter finish. Overall: very nice IIPA, intense, complex, yet not quite with some of the other recent IIPA releases. Bottle from Independent Spirit, Bath.

Keg @ 57 Thomas St, Manchester. Dangerous stuff for its strength, as it’s very fruity and hides much of the aforementioned in its tropical fruit flavours. Pale orange in colour with a thin head, you can feel the alcohol on your breath in its aftertaste. Has lots of tropical fruit aromas.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, peppery earth and lemon. Flavour of pineapple and caramel with a boozy finish. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Not as impressive as Human Canonball - it’s very sweet and not as drinkable as similarly strong DIPAs I’ve had.

Fresh (2016 version) 660ml bottle shared at the April 2016 Shrewsbury Beer Exchange Group meeting: cheers Simon. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. Tropical fruits all the way here, some semi-sour citrus bits along with more exotic sweeter fruits producing a good, rounded, strong IPA that isn’t too bitter: nice.

Keg at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A hazy golden colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, peach, some orange and slight herbal, floral hops. Taste of mango, passion fruit, orange, grapefruit, some peach, a little resin, subtle alcohol and slight herbal, floral hops. Full bodied and an oily texture. A dry, slightly resinous, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. It’s sure is hoppy, full of tropical fruits and resin, boozy but not overly so, subtle sweetness. Nice and doesn’t have that syrupy texture, however it lacks a longing hop bitterness in the finish for me. Otherwise great.

Old review from Tilquin festival 2015. Poured from tap, hazy medium wheat color with an off-white head. The smell is alcohol, fruit, citrus, honey, mango. The taste is grapefruit, citrus, alcohol, mango with a quite bitter ending. The body is medium and slick with fine carbonation.

Pours cloudy yellow and orange with a thin white head. Aroma is lashings of tropical fruits. Wow! That’s a beer. Loads of tropical fruit with a cutting bitterness.

cerveza dorado un poco turbia con espuma blanca de duración media baja. En nariz se expresan cítricos y frutas tropicales. En el paladar, un buen conjunto de frutas tropicales con un amargor bien definido y el alcohol bien integrado.
