3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at CBC Clerkenwell 2nd B’Day Extravaganza. Thanks to Peter. It pours dark brown with just some beige lacing. Aroma is roasted malts and toffee. Vanilla beans quite subtle. Taste is light bitter with some roastiness. Toffee and vanilla give some mild sweetness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. It didn’t excite me.

29th June 2013
Craft Clerkenwell 2nd Birthday Bonanza! Cask. Thanks to Jack. Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Nice vaniila and mellow coffee nose. Palate is light and a little dry. Moderate carbonation. Mild tangy fruit. Fairly bitter coffee. Unsweet vanilla runs all the way through. Semi dry finish. It’s a bit bitter and chewy and thus not hugely drinkable - pleasingly rich though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask at CBC Clerkenwell during the Second Birthday Celebration - London. Pours deep brown with a frothy, mocha cream head. Plenty of vanilla pods in the aroma, some gooey chocolate as well. Light to medium sweet flavor with moderate roasted malts, burnt toast, light vinous woodiness, dry chocolate, dirt, sure more vanilla. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish with dirty bitterness, roast, dry vanilla beans. Very tasty stuff. Quality from Magic Rock.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cask @ CBC Clerkenwell’s 2nd Birthday Party. The pour’s deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is earthy cocoa, some toffee, caramel eclair. Nice accents of rocky road fudge, rich vanilla. The taste starts sweet - more rocky road, chocolate syrup, hazelnut and vanilla spread. Ashy roast malt flavors cut the sweetness. Nicely balanced. Dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation. Overall, pretty good stuff. Nice.
