A - Served a dark black color with a thin layer of frothy chocolate head. Head fades quickly leaving behind some good lace.
S - Aroma is full of chocolate with some roasted aroma and a bit of burnt malt and cocoa nibs.
T - Starts off with some strong roasted bittersweet chocolate. Through the middle a touch of hops comes through with a touch of sweetness and a bit of burnt chocolate and espresso. The finish is a mix of roasted malts with some burnt flavors and more chocolate.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and slightly thick mouthfeel.
D - Very drinkable. Really strong chocolate style that dominates the flavor and nose. Really nice take on the style.

A: The pour is a very dark brown color, nearly black, with a sturdy mocha colored head.
S: The nose is primarily chocolate with a fair amount of roasted malts, some espresso, some more roasted malt (possibly burnt) and alcohol. Which is sort of strange for a beer that’s only 5.3%.
T: The flavors are nowhere near as intense as I would have anticipated or hoped. Moderate chocolate and cocoa flavor with some slightly sweet bread pudding sort of flavor as well. Mild roasted malts are present as well.
M: The body is medium with a low to medium carbonation.
D: Like many of the other beers at Magnolia, this was a let down. Just sort of bland and what was there wasn’t all that impressive.
