Draft. An unclear red-amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of wheat, phenols, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, caramel, and phenols.

Sampled during RBSG 7/9/2009 on tap at the brewpub. This Dunkle pours a medium amber color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel and malt, some fruit esters, slightly sweet. A medium to full bodied dunkle. The malts are caramel and slightly fruity, somewhat sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. There is a touch of banana and clove flavors. Nice soft mouthfeel and carbonation. A touch of lingering banana and bread. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap. Hazy orangey brown with an off-white head leaving laces. Aroma of yeast and nuts. Medium body, heavy carbonation, yeast and some phenols with a little nuts and fruit. Has a light underlying tartness. The finish is dry. 090709

From tap at the brewpub. Roasted caramel and estery fruity. Acidic and roasted malt flavoured. Light fruity accent. Again with a mild yet distinct acidity. Acidic wheaty and roasted malt flavoured finish.
