COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This copper-colored 3.6% ABV bitter features Golden Promise, crystal and wheat malts from the UK as well as touch of sugar, as is the norm with many English bitters. Hops are of the First Gold and East Kent Golding varieties, and our house English ale yeast seals the deal with a touch of fruitiness that comes out best in the cask version.

Cask at the brewpub. Clear copper colour. Aroma of hay and fruit. Solid body for it’s size, perhaps a tad fairly mouthfeel. A drinkable, fairly authentic English cask bitter with low bitterness.

Amberish color. Aroma is spicy English hops, a hint of diacetyl. Lightly toasted malts with some caramel notes. Fairly true to the style.

On tap. Dark golden body with white head. Some toasted malt in the aroma. Flavor is dry, toasted malt and also a bit biscuity crisp. Not very bitter, but with a long pleasant aftertaste. In fact very similar to a British bitter.

Aroma: Low hop aroma (very faintly flora) restrained malt. Buttery notes in the aroma Appearance: Golden with a slight copper hue poured very hazy with a lot of yeasty floaties good off white head Flavor: Nice crisp beer with nice malt and hop balance (almost chewy) felt slightly tannic Palate: medium light on the tongue Overall: A well made beer. Unfortunately the diacetyl which got more pronounced as the beer warmed up got in the way of enjoying this beer. Seems like a rare mis-step for Magnolia and Dave McLean
