Draft at the source. Thin tan head on top the black liquid with much retention. Aroma is mild chocolate and hints of salty ocean. Lighter side of medium in body with a mild brine finish. The brine plays nicely with the deep chocolate malts. Nice depth of malt with a drying texture over the tongue. Tasty.

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a deep reddish brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roasted coffee, milky, cream, coffee aroma. I suppose the oysters come through a lot more in the flavor. Dark chocolate. Roasted coffee. Earth. Drinks maybe better than anything here.

On tap at Magnolia. Black with a thin tan head. Light aroma, roasty and sweet. Taste is very nice; roasty, creamy, sweet, brown sugar, light bitter finish. Medium-body, high carbonation. Nice.

Dark brown, maybe black, in color with a soapy tan head. Nose is a little bit briny/salty with a pretty decent roasted malt profile. Some earthy hops, coffee grounds, and a touch of butter. Roasted malt flavor, light bitterness, and coffee. Light butter, some salt, and chocolate.

12 oz. Draft at Magnolia Pub and Brewery, SF, CA. A typical stout in appearance, a little light in mouthfeel for a stout, but the aroma was solid coffee, roasted goodness, a little earthy. The flavor was coffee and roasted notes up front then a little nutty, earthy, and a finish that was a bit salty. The owner’s wife was sitting next to me at the bar and said they use actual oysters in the brewing of this beer. Maybe that’s the saltiness!

180712. Tap at magnolia pub, SF. Pours black with a nice medium head. Aroma roasted malts, coffee, some nuts. Smooth medium dry finish that doesnt really last. Not Bad.

(Draught) Pours a black body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, earth, subtle smoke, and salt. Flavor of roasted malt, salt, earth, lightly burnt grain, cocoa, and grass.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours jet black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a chewy coffee flavor and a bit of shellfish with a dry finish.
