(06.21.07) On tap at Magnolia Pub and Brewery. 5.1% ABV. Hazy amber ale with small white head. Light citrus aroma. Small carbonation. Starts dry with citrus grapefruit hop flavors. Medium finish with light lingering hop bitterness. Slightly thin and watery side otherwise, a nice hoppy beer without aggressive bitterness. Goes well with a Cuban sandwich. One of the better offerings at Magnolia.

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a dark orange appearance with a creamy colored head. Caramel, toasted malty aroma with some grassy / stalky notes. Pretty sweet flavor. Chewy herbal flavor. Some caramel and grass. Pass.

On tap at SF Beer Week Opening Gala. Pour is copper with almost no head. Aroma and flavor are both of roast, floral hops, biscuit, and caramel. Sweet finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pour is clear orange with a huge cream colored head and great lacing. Bready, husky, light grapefruit, citrus, and grassy aroma. Taste is pretty bland - slightly floral, grainy, biscuity, grassy, and herbal with a medium bitter finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Not bad for less than 5%.

lusikka (5948) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 17, 2012
Draught @ Magnolia Pub & Brewery, San Francisco. Rated on 15.10.2012.
Pours a hazy golden copper colour with a white head. Aroma of toasted malts, floral hops and bread. Flavour of mild toasted malts, really strong and pungent hops, raisins and hay. Medium bodied, slick and a bit thin mouthfeel and a dry bitter finish. Nicely hopped, but lacks maltiness.

draft at Magnolia, copper pour, diacatyl bomb, buttery bitterness. Not enjoyable

A decent aroma is the only highlight of this otherwise lackluster beer. A neat trip into the past, but still pretty mediocre.

Draft... Super dark but xlear gold, copper in the middle, nice light tan head... Caramelly grass body, a bit off, too sweet... Taste is blah, boring, nothing new, sweet pale

marcus (6318) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 9, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours medium brown, much darker than pale, with a modest beige head and a coffee aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a chalky bitter finish.

Draught at the brew pub, SF.Amber looks with a small white head. Sweet malt, citrus, and restrained piney hop in the nose and flavour. Gently bitter finish. Crisp and drinkable enough but more interesting pickings to be found at the other end of Haight methinks.
