Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish.

Orange colored pour with a white head. Orange peel and citrus hop aromas up front. Nice tropical fruit, particularly pineapple, some pine, grapefruit, and sweet caramel malt. There’s a strong grassy note to it, though. The flavor is a little bit sweet and sugary, but otherwise not bad. Grapefruit, orange peel, and mild pineapple fruit notes. Floral, piny, and grassy hops on the finish with a mild bitterness.

Tap at Brewpub. Pours a hazed deep copper- slightly muddled, with a thin head. Aroma is dull orange, slight cheese, light oxidation, with some dusty crackers, herbs, and slight phenolic. Flavor is yeasty, cracker, dough, citrus, orange, light pine, grass, herbs and earthy with a muddled finish and medium sweetness. A bit too messy with a touch of off phenol.

Cask/handpull at Toronado SF, paired with a cheeseburger/Tuesday from next door. Hazy golden color, small off white head. Nice pine aroma, great mouthfeel, bitter finish. Good.

Draft at brewpub. Amber with an off white head. Aroma is piney hops and a little citrus. Flavors of floral hops, pine and grapefruit, with some roasted malt. A very nice imperial IPA.

on tap-pours a tigh off white head and gold color. Aroma is sweet citrus-orange/resin, some light/medium malt. Tasetis sweet citrus-orange/resin hops bite, some light/medium malt. OK effervescence.

On tap via cask at the brewpub. Pours deep clear gold with white head. The aroma goes from sweet to citrus to more and more grapefruit tartness. Wow, wonderful aroma. The taste is bitter with a bit of pine and then quickly moving into grapefruit hop flavor and then some grapefruit hop bitterness with a solid malt support in the background. It gets more and more pine bitterness into the finish leaving some pine resin and echoes of grapefruit into the after taste.

Tasted at brewery. Clear golden with a fizzy white head. Sweet caramel, grapefruit, and grass aroma. Tart, bitter citrus and grass taste with a lingering oak-like taste to the finish.

Really bitter and strong. I’m a hophead but this is too bitter for my palate. Good balance and exactly what it should be for this style, but too strong for my taste. Do you loose hop aroma on high alcohol beers like this.

Draught at the brewpub Hazy, deep amber with a small, tan head. Coffee, chocolate, elderberries and some licorice in the aroma. Pretty high on alcohol. Hay like and very heavy bitterness.
