3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, - OCT 10, 2005
Cloudy golden straw, mostly diminishing white head. Ryeish toasted grain malt character contrasts with the honey cereals sweet side. Lots of tea-like tannins punctuate the palate, which shows surprisingly little bitterness for a saison, but moreso very accessible mandarine aromatics. Oaky, bubblegummy and lactic example that doesn’t really have the necessary dryness to contend with the very many greats.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ngeunit1 (825) - Mountain View, California, USA - MAR 22, 2012
A - Pours a copper-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades slow leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of floral esters with some light spices and yeast. There is some pepper with a bit of rich malt.
T - Starts off with some floral flavors with some yeast flavor and some light spices. Through the middle some richer bready malt comes through with some stronger yeast flavor and some caramel. The finish is a mix of rich malts with some sweet caramel, yeast, and some spices.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet estery finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice saison with a bit of extra malt, but it works and is nicely balanced with the other flavors.

A: The pour is a cloudy, bright orange color with a fluffy white head that sticks to the glass.
S: An enormous floral character to the nose as well as an overwhelming aroma of sweet, candied oranges. Some grass, orange peel, coriander, and sickly sweet malts round the nose out.
T: This beer is sugary sweet, my goodness. Almost like an orange juice reduction (sugar added, of course). Still, very floral and perfumey with just a hint of an attempt at bittering hops.
M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation. As the beer warms up, it becomes almost syrupy.
D: This just got less and less pleasant and more and more cloying. Not really at all what I think of when it comes to saisons.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bb (4887) - Alamo, California, USA - AUG 28, 2008
Draft. lightly hazy amber beer with an off-white head. bready, malt, light spice aroma. Malty, doughy/bready flavor with peppery spice. Medium bodied. Lingering spice and bready malt. Finishes dry. Doesn’t offer much. Shows up at 8.2%.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bhensonb (7598) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 26, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. Interesting mixed aroma of spice and floral. Slightly orange tinged gold color with minimal head. Medium body with little carbonation (Magnolia ales are so English - even when they aren’t). First flavor is rather mentholic (but my companion suggested rosemary - chacun à sa propre goût). Then followed light, slightly peppery spice. Finish is balanced - not sweet - not really dry. The "herb" stayed to the end - maybe it was coriander. A different ale. Good. Much more intriguing than many ales.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (23023) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 1, 2007
(On tap) 6.5% ABV in my March version. Hazy golden with a dense, neat, creamy and very white head leaving pretty laces. Fruity - perhaps even floral - aromas. Medium body, lightly sweet and very fruity - perhaps a bit candy-like with a lightly acidic finish. Quite interesting and different. 210307
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 GeneralGao (3545) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 24, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Poured a hazy yellow-orange color. Head was thick and white with good retention and lacing. Smelled of yeasty bread dough and some citrus. The 8% alcohol was relatively well masked with yeasty bread dough, citrus, and subdued banana flavors. Tasty.
