This rich, ruby-hued ale has a sweet, fruity maltiness with a lingering hop and malt finish. There is a faint coffee-like roastiness as well as a hint of black cherries.

Tap at smokestack. Clear reddish chestnut, small tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma is nutty, caramel, bread. Light sweet, minimal bitterness, malty, bready. Medium body. OK.

From cask at smokestack - delicious malty sweetness with touch of fruit but not too sweet. Prefer cask pour... More complex flavor profile without too much carbonation and warmer serving temp.

On tap @ the brewery during San Francisco 7/7/14 beer tour. Pours a reddish orange appearance with a tan head. Some diacetyl, caramel, and toasted malt in the nose. Moderately night carbonation. Some more butter in the flavor. Mild toffee and toast. A touch of fruit. The butter isn’t overwhelming and I think acceptable in small doses for the style. Fine.

Quite good mild session beer. Perfect pairing with some excellent BBQ at the new brewery in Dogpatch! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Magnolia, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is very subtle, with some very slightly caramel-tinged toasted malt. Flavour brings out toasted bready malt, very very dry caramel accents, and some dry red fruity notes. Highly drinkable, bready, and dry caramely. Good stuff.

On tap at the Pub, August 2013. Clear reddish/copper with a medium head. Aroma and taste of light roasted malt, nuts, toffee and some fruit. Soft and easy to drink. The finish was dry. A solid one.

10 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub last weekend. Very faint aroma with a light nuttiness, and a light sweetness. Not much else. Transparent ruddy-amber body with a small, off-white head present. Starts a little carbonated with a mild spiciness, too. Becomes a little nutty in the middle with very light toasted malts. A little overly-carbonated and spritzy for me, though.

Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nose is bread, toast, popcorn, and diacetyl. Somewhat floral and a hint of citrus, maybe some cocoa and coffee in there, too. The flavor is okay once you get past the butter. Sweet bread and toasted malt, some popcorn, and floral hops. Light citrus peel flavor and bitterness, mild cocoa and coffee, and a moderate malt sweetness. The butter character really ruins this beer.

Nice dark copper/red. Smooth and malty, but not too sweet. Stays on the tongue with a nice hint of hop at the end.
