3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 womencantsail (6902) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - DEC 27, 2012
Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Nose is bread, toast, popcorn, and diacetyl. Somewhat floral and a hint of citrus, maybe some cocoa and coffee in there, too. The flavor is okay once you get past the butter. Sweet bread and toasted malt, some popcorn, and floral hops. Light citrus peel flavor and bitterness, mild cocoa and coffee, and a moderate malt sweetness. The butter character really ruins this beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Frank (2188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 22, 2012
They pour this up in a big imperial pint glass at the brewery, great style for this serving size. It’s a pretty clear red brown w/ a long lasting head of mixed bubbles. It’s nice and light but creamy in texture but still rather full flavored. Very English in character, perhaps along the lines of a bitter. It’s malty w/o being sweet w/ earthy and herbal hops. There is some toasted malt and a touch of chocolate along w/ a very, very slight buttery note. I’m into it.
