Magnolia Slipping Into Darkness India Brown Ale

I like this beer. The only thing I could use to describe it is "a dark IPA". Very tasty. Nice aroma, rich and dark, with a definite hoppiness (more grassy than citrusy, I’d say) and perhaps a hint of diacetyl. It is a dark beer -- darker than even the "brown" would otherwise imply but looks fantastic in the glass. Was medium-full on the palate and had all kinds of flavors (dark, roasty malts, licorice, and, of course, citrusy and floral hop notes). Not everyone’s cup o’ tea, to be sure, but really an excellent example of a beer that pushes out into all kinds of new areas and dares to defy the normal style guidelines ... well worth a glass or two while you can get it.
