not a bad indian beer at all. head fades very rapidly down to little white bubbles on the sides of the glass. the aroma was skunky. the appearance was a golden color. kind of watered down with a little hint of spices on the palate. had a good hoppness to it too. one that i can drink again.

This stuff caught me off guard. I expected something watery along the lines of Kingfisher, but what I got was a spicy aroma with a perfect, moderate hop bite, with a subtle sweet/tart aftertaste that I really enjoyed. Maybe it was a weird synergy of the beer and spices in the Indian food, but I thought this beer was far better than the scores I’m seeing here. I’d like to find it and try it again sometime to see if it was a fluke.

This is actually a pretty good pilsner, with a real pilsner quality and hop flavour, particularly rather in the German style. It is gold with a medium white head that soon shrinks to a thin foamy top. The aroma is light flowery grain, honey, bread, a little pine and a hint of grass. The taste is stronger, with a strong, lighhtly astringent herbal and grassy quality up front, with grain, bread crust, sweetness, and a hint of pine. It all settles together after the first sip but remains, flavourful, aromatically hoppy and herbal with herbal bitterness and bread.

Maharaja Premium Indian Pilsner has a medium, foamy head, a clear, yellow-golden appearance, some bubble steams, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, full, and pungent barley malt, biscuit, grass, and bread dough. Taste is of bready malt, charcoal, grass, sourness, a bit of green apple, and a faint hop bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Maharaja Premium India Pilsner finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and mild. Overall, this is a good beer, and it’s worth a try. RJT

I am going over you guys on this one. This is tough beer to get, and in spite to of mass produced qualities, Excellent beer. Rich, nice texture, flavorful, yet Not heavy. I was impressed with the Indian Import. Enjoy with your Indian food at a restaurant it will not disappoint. I rate this over asian imports I have had easily Not bleachy really, rich and fine. Honey to bubbly. Sunflower to honey. Enjoy.

330 ml bottle, mfd. 05/2005, batch 93. Topaz with a lasting eight-inch of cream. Aroma of spicy caramel and brown sugar reminds me of a Belgian dubbel. Initial flavor is similar, with a nicely developing bitterness on subsequent sips that turns woody then citrus and finally leathery-earthy. Light body is both smooth and tingly with a nice drying quality, although the sweet malt lingers in the aftertaste. I doubt that this one was intended for consumption almost 3-1/2 years after bottling, but it really developed into a nice beer that resembles a mild Belgian ale.

This lager had a very good, well-balanced hops and malt taste. The only thing that put me off was a slight metallic presence in the nose, something I haven’t encountered in a beer before.

Hmmmmm..I don’t know if I like this beer or not. Definetly different fron any Indian beer I’ve had before.A little spiciness yet clean and crisp. Great with spicy Indian food.
