3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle - 330ml. Opaque black body with yeasty chunks and an average beige foamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with coffeeish and grainy hints. Taste is slightly misbalanced (probably due to the use of a green bottle). It carries plummy and brown sugar notes. Ends with a robust bittersweet finish.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy dark ruby, no aroma, good carbonation, almost no hops there, fruity, roasted flavor, good body, a very pleasant beer. I didn’t expect to get this.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
It’s not too complex, but it’s pretty unique. A fruity stout with notes of coffee and cocoa. Unpasteurised and rather fresh in spite of having been stored for a long time, which is rare for most stouts. They sure drink good beer over in Easter Island.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 8, 2015 Comments: Well, seems like this one has been pretty inconsistent lately. The last bottle I got had an almost Coca-Cola taste and little roastiness. Weird. I would rate the last few batches between a 2.9 and a 3.4.
(Original rating: 11/17/2009). Pours a very hazy dark brown color with a medium to big light brown frothy head that diminishes slowly and leaves a nice film.
Aroma is malty, toasty with notes of oatmeal, bread, rye, toasted barley and lots of espresso coffee and chocolate. Interesting.
Taste is sweet but with burnt cocoa flavors. Espresso, rye bread, licorice and bitter chocolate. Very nice.
Body is big with a pretty intense mouthfeel and alcoholic warming. Low carbonation. Pretty rounded stout, classic without being too complex.
Another good effort from my beloved Rapa Nui!
