   AROMA 1/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20
HammerTroll (582) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 2, 2014
Cloudy dark brown color, small off-white head. Aroma? Well, infected cabbage. Something that gross can obviously come only from Slovenia (no offense, I’m saying that after trying couple of infected Vizirs). Taste is, on the other hand, quite passable. Roasted malts, some caramel, not bad. Again, sour notes, but more sweetness. Creamy texture, flat to soft carbonation, thin to medium body. Sweet finish. Mahnič could be very drinkable schwarzbier if it’s not infected.

Cunningham (4887) - Halden, NORWAY - NOV 10, 2014
Appearance: Deep dark color with some ruby notes. A big tan head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Bready, mild roasted and some herbal notes.
Palate: Medium body. Tad sweet with a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Dark malt, mild roasted and some herbal notes.
Overall impression: Hmmm felt more like a dunkel lager.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with MarkoNm

500ml bottle, thanks to MarkoNM. Pours black with fast receding fizzy head. Rola Cola appearance. Aroma of sweaty gym socks, cheesy cider and sulpher. Taste is similarly awful. Something definitely gone wrong somewhere along the line. Sinkpour.

500 ml bottle. BB 20/10/2014. From MarkoNm. Hvala!
Dark reddish brown pour with a tiny light tan head. The aroma is mild with some roasted malt, sweetness and some farmyardy notes. The flavour is berries, sweetness and some roasted malty notes. Soft carbonation. Not very Schwarzbiery...

MarkoNm (747) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - SEP 5, 2014
Pours a dark brown color, topped with a very decent tan colored head. A very mild aroma - roasted malts, some caramel notes and herbal aroma as well. Also slight alcohol aroma, not completely unpleasant. Sweet taste, just a little roasty, no bitterness, but just a hint of caramel. Not bad.

sinte (362) - Udine, ITALY - MAR 30, 2014
On tap. Clear brown/reddish body; average, fizzy, off-white head, fully diminishing with virtually no lacing. Light malty aroma (caramel) with hoppy notes (herbal); acidic yeasty notes are also present (cheese or soap). Moderate sweet flavour with light bitterness and an important acidic character. Light-to-medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation; light metallic feeling in the finish.

CanCrusher (670) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - JUN 4, 2013
Bottle 1,5L from the brewpub. Amber - brown colour with small beige head. Malty caramel aroma with some chocolate touch. Light sweet caramel taste with light bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body with texture somwhere between watery and oily. Easy drinkable, go nicely down the troath... They improved their beer a lot since few years ago.

Kita (1188) - Koper, SLOVENIA - SEP 16, 2012
Draught, 0.3l. Clear dark brown color with small frothy white head. Pleasant aroma of herbal hops, coffee and light caramel. Taste starts with sweet maltiness and is followed with light roast, however I miss hops in the aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Too carbonated and too less roasted...

Bottled, from the brewpub. Cloudy dark brown, brief head. Lactic nose. Dry with some tartness. Light-medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Some tin and coffee. Low bitterness. Not at all as soft and pleasant as their pale beer.

heavy (2161) - Split, CROATIA - AUG 9, 2008
03/08 Draught at the brewpub. Murky dark brown body with smaller head. Sour coffee nose, mostly from roasted malt. Yes, strange flavor, first it began with coffee and cherry sourness similar to that beer from Flora, but with some ugly spices. Not thin bodied, but not quite nice as well. Finish is medium long, fine, with coffee leaving the most. I expected a lot more after their Helles beer.
