nicholai (100) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 14, 2006
Medium to small head, dark gold color. The taste is quite sweet for a lager, some alcohol and banana notes. Not great, but then again I wasn’t expecting much.

Another wonderful lager beer served in almost every Spanish bar. Great taste and an impressive after taste. One of my preferences while being in Spain.

Bottle
Dark golden, no head. Flat rice aroma. Watery, one-dimensional and boring.

Hazy blond color. Quite nice hop aroma, for a Spanish common lager. And even some malt and hop flavor

Very nice bottle but a not so very nice beer. Dark gold colour with a light head. Very light and refreshing. Not much to say about this one. Only that i prefer CruzCampo when i’m in Spain. And even that one.....

Hawksfan17 (890) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2005
Spain - Pours dark gold, there is a sweet, maybe corn scent to it. It has a strage hopped bitter flavor. It goes down ok and was a decent pale lager.

Papsoe (25094) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 27, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Deep golden colour with a pretty and thick head. Quite full, rather sweet with the typical Spanish hop-bite in the finish. An ok beer albeit mainstream. 010604

highlandlad (1402) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - FEB 28, 2005
No yahoo for Mahou. However, to be fair this is one of the better Spanish lagers. Poured a straw colour with a now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t head. The nose has some piney hops and a dollop of butter. Predictably light and quenching, with some fresh hay character and a little bitterness in the finish. Bit more flavour than is typical for the region. (Bottle)

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 12/20
Nekronos (3603) - Xalapa, MEXICO - DEC 17, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2006 Refreshing, as most of the panish beers. CLear. But it has a corky flavor. I like it and I thought it was the Mahou I already knew.
