Another wonderful lager beer served in almost every Spanish bar. Great taste and an impressive after taste. One of my preferences while being in Spain.

Can: Bright golden with a thick, rich head. Taste is hearty, spicy, hoppy. Surprisingly good! Food Pairing: Paella Valenciana.

Decent beer I found in Spain. Not what I would drink on an every day basis, but when in Spain, you drink what is available, and there isn’t much of a selection in Spain. I drank wine 70% of the time.

This was quite a pleasant surprise as i have never really thought of Spanish lagers as being that impressive.Pleasant yellow appearance with a dry starts that turns sweet. Sharp, crisp and a well balanced above average lager.

A very fine lager with a large head that sticks around and foggy body. Aroma is of lemon and a hint of malty hazelnut. Nice pronounced flavour of citrus, nuts, and malts. One of the better lagers out there.

On tap in 1 out of every 3 Madrid bars, Ive yet to find a better price-quality ratio - crisp clean taste, slightly bitter aftertaste, but I really enjoy it - ¡Que viva el Mahou!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had at a restaurant in Palma, Mallorca. Pours a bright, slightly hazy orange gold with a small amount of fizzy white head. Aroma fruity banana and grass. Flavor some sweetness then a dry hop finish. Medium mouthfeel. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer and thought it was better than most southern european lagers.

On tap at Mar i Terra Tapas Bar, Waterloo, London on 12th October 2013. Amber with thinnish white lacing foam. Malty and yeasty aromas. Crisp hoppiness in-mouth rounded by sweetish malts. Much the same theme continues in the finish. Zingy mouthfeel and fine carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2006 Refreshing, as most of the panish beers. CLear. But it has a corky flavor. I like it and I thought it was the Mahou I already knew.
