larsga (6496) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 6, 2008
Thin light brown head. Deep dark red translucent body. Sweet earthy caramel aroma with roasty malty grain notes. Very clean and harmonic. Sweet burnt earthy caramel taste with malty grain notes. Medium-to-thin mouthfeel. Clean and harmonic. Dry burnt sooty earthy aftertaste, a bit thin, with caramelly notes. Nice, and well made, but not very special. (0.33l bottle at Cardinal.)

The bottle looks really good, but the beer is not good. Very, very malty, really penetrating, every gulp is a torture. A terrible beer.

Very smooth, hint of licorice in there and surprisingly un-gassy for a bottled beer. Something I always look out for when in Spain. can’t seem to find it over in the UK

(on bottle)Liked this one. Light brown, white head. Thin, wellcarbonated mouthfeel and a soft taste. The pond is the finish, witch are coffeeish and coco-like, with a stouts dryness. Cleanses the palate real nicely.

CamdenD (1113) - Madrid, SPAIN - DEC 4, 2007
Another disappointingly bland beer from Spain! This had a decent molasses malt taste that quickly turned syrupy sour as it went down. Although this provides a bit more character than the classico or 5 star version, Mahou has just succeeded in producing another wonderfully weak beer!

Bottle. Clear amber colour with a medium creamy head. Rich aroma and taste of roasted malts and caramel. Good beer.
