Dark red beer with a light roast aroma. Dry and lightly bitter. This wasn’t bad but was nothing to write home about. An ok ’mild’.

330ml bottle from a grocery shop on Hubin Nanlu, Xiamen. Pours dark brown black with a dissipating off white head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee although a little metallic. Dry bitter finish. A lot better than I thought it might be and would drink it again.

I figured I'd give Mahou one last chance to show they could make a decent product, and they did alright with this dunkel style dark lager. Other than the bland and metallic grain tinged aroma, the rest of this beer is enjoyable, features a nice earthy brown color, likewise an earthy cocoa accented caramel malt flavor. Soft medium palate, smooth and refreshing. Very pleasant bitter chocolate aftertaste. Some faint earthy hoppiness as well. Not craft quality but a respectable dark lager, I would drink this again. True to the Munich/ Central European style.
