thornecb (979), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jul 12, 2008 Pours bright gold into a stem glass. White head recedes to hug rim. Malt and candi aromas. Thin and sweet with chalky sourness in the lasting finish. islay (368), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Jun 27, 2008 16.9 oz. bottle. Strong, fruity, floral, buttery aroma features white grape juice, apple cider, apple sauce, and apricot scents. Interesting smell, but too juicy. Pours an effesrvescent pale gold with a tornado of bubbles, making it look like champagne or at least a bottle-conditioned beer. This would be a great-looking beer if not for a large amount of unappetizing, suspended particulate. Moderate amount of fluffy, cream-colored head. Produces sporadic lacing. Sweet and simple taste. Alcohol noticable. Yellow plum and bread flavors. Reminiscent of a bad dessert wine. Tastes much as it smells, but not as good. There is too much sweetness for my taste. Hops make their presence felt only in the dry aftertaste and even then only to a small extent. Light to medium body. Easy to drink. A bit undercarbonated. This is not exactly my kind of beer. Ernest (4186), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 26, 2008 Draught.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a hint of gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Not much going on, and rough in the malt department. BeerGestapo (263), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2008 (GERMAN) Pours a deep golden color with sm-dissipating white head. The aroma is spicy with a lemon / malty taste. There is some sediment in this brew, mouthfeel is mild for a bock !! Overall, not bad but i was hoping for a bit more. zappafan99 (256), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA May 28, 2008 Updated: Jul 4, 2008Cloudy orange pour. Aroma is malt and hay. Taste: spicy, hay, yeast.
