harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 6, 2006 This was awesome! Pours a deep reddish brown, with a nice rocky head. Almost porterish in the mouthfeel, with an ample amount of roastiness, chocolate and caramel with some tasty dark fruits. Not too heavy on the palate, but just right!
joohefner (379), Isla Vista, California, USA Jun 24, 2008 Dark chocolate color with a thin, creamy tan head. Molasses, rosted malts, and smoked wood aromas. Medium sticky body. Smokey and sweet flavor. Tastes mostly of roasted malts: caramel, toffee, molasses, with a little chocolate coming through. It has a bittersweet, dusty earth finish. Nice example. thegreenrooster (1447), St.louis, Missouri, USA Jun 14, 2008 Pour is a dark brown with a mild chocolate looking head. Aroma is some caramel and molasses with a bit of sweetness. Flavor is chocolate and and roasted malt with a sweet aftertaste. Not a bad little beer. Ibrew2or3 (1613), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jun 8, 2008 Courtesy of CigarCityBrew. Pours clear deep amber with thin white head. The aroma is sweet molasses, caramel, toffee, sweet Concord grape jam and mild mustiness. The taste is thin with semi sweet molasses and faint dark fruitiness to go along with some Munich like grainy malts. Pretty good but the aroma paints a better picture than the beer flavor can support. marcus (918), Sacramento, California, USA May 23, 2008 This black beer poured with a fluffy tan head and a mild caramel aroma. The flavor is mostly candy sugar and caramel malt. The body is too thin and ;there is an odd aftertaste. fishingnet (737), Brandon, Florida, USA May 21, 2008 Bottle courtesy Degarth. Pours a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a small off-white head. Aroma of tea and caramel. Taste is astringent tea. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. This bottle was past its prime.
