a little on the light side just like the ginger bock but nothing unpleasant. mostly a crisp bready malt aroma and flavor.

SanfordBrewer (1391) - Sanford, Florida, USA - MAY 9, 2014
translucent orange-gold with a thin and bubbly white head. medium-full body with high carbonation. bottle sediment.

aroma: bready malt, caramel sweetness, floral hops.

taste: rich melanoidins, bready malt, dark caramel malt, leafy hops.

too much dark caramel character for me, lends a sassafras root note that is pleasant in smaller doses in other examples, but overpowers other nice qualities in this high percentage.

@ Vino Belissimo / Lima OH --- Clear medium amber with a solid head cover, sprays of lace that drop back into the drink. Taste is straight-up caramel malt at the onset. It grows nicely to a lightly hopped, carbonated palate before showing dark dried fruit in the finish. This starts very well for the style, but ends on an odd note. Good, not great.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, full sized creamy white head that lasts for quite some time. Smell and taste malts, light to moderately bitter, lightly herbs. Average body and carbonation. Decent.

Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Goldgelb.

Mahrs Bräu Bock-Bier has a very thick, frothy, over-flowing, white head, a mostly clear, very bubbly, golden appearance, with noticeable sediment roiling about, and a bit of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is sharp, sweet, and grassy, with rich bread and subdued hop oil. Taste is of the same, with a noted alcohol presence, not unlike King Cobra Premium Malt Liquor. Mouthfeel is medium, and Mahrs Bräu Bock-Bier finishes dry, easy going, and good. A beer that everyone should try! RJT

From bottle. German yeast on nose. Some candy notes as well. Taste is caramel, spice, and some biscuit makes. Drinks smooth.

trapped (870) - New York City, TURKEY - MAR 18, 2014
Drought. Light amber with whitish creamy head, no specific aroma, low carbonation, thin body, sugary-caramel taste mixed with a spicy flavor, medium finish ending with a bit of bitterness. Not a great brew, too sugary for my taste.

bartlebier (1884) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - MAR 3, 2014
50cl, bb 04/2014. Immediate alcohol and starch in the nose, the mind boggles why an age-old traditional brewery who does prime normal beers would want this in their beer. Some fruitiness ensues as it warms. Flavour is the same, amped grains and confused sour mash, palate sticky and cardboard. Another fuming case against bottom fermenting anything over 6%. First heavy letdown from Mahrs.
