Golden with white head. Nutty, floral, vanilla and toffee. Sweet, round, hoppy and dry finish. Overall: Looks different than it tastes. Well done.

Small creamy shortlasting head, light straw colored. Aroma is grainy, wet hay, wet grain, grass, yeast, sugar, nuts, paper. Taste is harsh mineraly, weeds, metal tank, sugar, grain, almond essence, paper, flowers. Medium bitterness, harsh metallic mouthfeel. Crap!

Well this was a treat. I will come out and say that I may be favorably biased, as I was eating a garlickly beef dish in an unexpectedly good Chinese restaurant in Berlin, and at the time it was hard to imagine any beer that would have been finer with that food and all those slithery fried noodles that my daughter didn’t seem to want. Fresh, nutty, sweetish, a bit of orange-zest in the taste, and enough bitterness (just) to balance that sweetness. Comforting alcoholic strength after a long day. I think this is where bock beers belong, and it’s important to remember this when we taste one and think "meh, sweet and too strong." Dinner, man. They belong at dinner.

Golden-copper colored, medium white lasting head. Aroma is of caramel, dried fruits and herbal grassy notes. Taste is medium+ sweet caramel malty, some sugar, fruity, some bread and herbal medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Surprisingly hoppy and bitter for a Bock!

Flasche und Hahn - Goldenes, klares Bier mit langlebieger Krone. Ausgewogener im Geschmack, voller Körper, bitter, leicht malzig-süßlich. Sehr süffig.

On draft. Sample. It definitely has a grainy taste to it. Notes of caramel, bubbly and thin. It was just ok for me.

Smooth and malty beginning. Fresh floral bitterness. Easy to drink with a malty-fresh body. Heller-Bock sweetness with not much bitterness. A bit viscous, round and smooth. Nice.

From BJCP study group, 3-4oz pour, from bottle

A very rich and sweet aroma that reminded me of dark fruit. Very, very fruity and nice aroma. Yellow color with beige head. A bit haze for a heller bock, but otherwise looked fine. It had a very complex, rich maltiness with toasty and caramel notes. The sweetness of the malts lingered long into aftertaste. A very clean taste with moderate fruity notes. Very smooth with some warmth. A great, malt complex beer.
