2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
P: Crystal clear copper body with a thin layer of airy white bubbles that settle to a thin film. Slowly active bubbles climbing to the top.
S: Toasted caramel malt, yeast, cereal grains and dull spice.
T/M: Taset follows the nose with heavy malt, toast and earthy yeast. Apple peel hops with cinnamon and other spices balancing delicately on the palate. Light body with zesty carbonation. Finish is dry with timid bitter apple peel.
O: As a Christmas beer I feel lack of spice was really a downer. A good beer that is easy drinking and enjoyable but not a Christmas miracle. A solid offering none the less.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark straw color. The 1-finger rocky head lingers and dissipates to a lacy foam. There’s very little cling to the glass. The aroma is very subtle--muted malt, grass, and banana. Very little hop aroma. It has a creamy, sweet up-front flavor with hints of fruit, grass, and a whisper of cinnamon. Decent mouthfeel, smooth, with light carbonation. The finish has a slight hop bite that offsets flavors citrus, butter and ginger. The 6% ABV provides a bit of warmth. Overall, a nicely balanced brew. There are many better Christmas ales out there, but this one is definitely worth a try.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
16.9oz. bottle: This one pours a darker, clear caramel color. There was a very small tan head that didn’t linger long or leave any lacing. The aroma is OK. Caramel malts, hints of biscuit, subtle fruits, some earthy hops and maybe a hint of spices. The taste is OK. Some caramel malt sweetness with a hint of spices. Mild earthy hops. Maybe a hint of breadiness. Decent enough, but I’m glad it was on sale. Don’t think it was worth the original $5.99/bottle.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured this beer from the bottle into a trumpet style glass to drink. The beer had a fairly cloudy light and faint amber-brown color with an average-sized foamy white head that had low retention, but average cling and lacing. The aroma featured a fruit and floral blend with light notes of raisin and fig, along with touches of malt, earth, and pine, and a bit of yeast. It had a sour-sweet blended fruity taste with touches of raisin and notes of caramel, along with a light yeast component. The beer was fairly creamy and wet with low-to-average carbonation, and was a touch on the thin side, with a lighter, slightly watery, mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
16.9oz bottle, shared with my sister. An "07" is stamped on the back of the bottle... I hope that doesn’t mean what I think it means. Mildly hazy yellow orange color. Thin white head. Decent lace. Medium body. Smooth lighter carbonation. Really malty aroma, light on the spice. Kinda musty, but not bad after you get accustomed to it a bit (I’ve never had a "Christmas bock", I wasn’t sure what to expect here). Texture is almost kind of creamy after a bit, it’s pretty nice. Savory taste, light bitter. My sister said she wished it was a little richer. But this is it’s own type of thing, I enjoyed my portion

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared on birthday with Ralf the German. .5L bottle. We began by singing the German National Anthem (all verses). Malt forward and sweet, this beer provided the baseline feeling for the imperial stout brew session. Warming the beer nose became increasingly nutty. Splendid gentle sweet earthy finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally rated February 2005. Poured a cloudy beige-orange colour with a bubbly foam white head. The lacing was very good. Aromas were of sweet malt and grain. Taste started very sharp and strong, then went to a fruity middle with pears, and then finished in a weird smooth and bitter aftertaste. Not really impressed with this one.
