COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Weisse Bock is an increasingly popular style that is strong and very tasty – with all of the fruity, spicy flavors one expects from a wheat beer, and more – but never too heavy on the palate. This rich, dark, and enthralling Bock is refreshing and drinks so easily that one would never suspect that it weighs in at 7.2% a.b.v. If you appreciate Aventinus, try Der Weisse Bock.

Clove and dark fruit nose, plums, prunes. Clear ruby brown, medium tan head. Prune is more dominant on the palate, bread crust underneath, muted clove notes. Medium body, harsh.

Nice amber, tight head. Sweat wheaty aroma, banana. Full palate. Rich wheaty taste, pleasant banana aspects, a little sweet, some metallic aspects. Drinkability decent, nice park tick.

on tap @ Mahrs Brau / Bamberg / Germany --- Aroma of sweet dark malt. Clear brown color, big tan head that drops to a thick cover, sprays of lace. Taste is sweet caramel malt with medium carbonation that shows only traces of hops. So rich, sweet and dark that I think I detect traces of brown sugar and vanilla. Balanced, with everything complimenting everything else. A solid Weiss Bock at the brewery. Highly recommended.

500ml bottle (random place, Berlin). Pale yellow color. Straight from the bottle as park tick in Prague. Sweet, metallic, wheaty and yeasty in aroma. Metallic, copper, sweet and papery in taste. Metallic and yeasty in aftertaste. Copper is disturbing in taste.

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is ripe bananas, yeast, berries, some toasted bread. Taste is ripe bananas, burnt caramel, prunes, toasty, slightly roasted towards the end. Hints of a sourishness that give it a surprisingly light character. Silky Weizen mouthfeel. A great dark Weizenbock with a nice balance. And I have finally found another good example of this beautiful style after a few mediocre ones.

500ml bottle. Cloudy dark brown colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, fruity, wheaty aroma, note sof banana, baked banana, honey, clove, pear, slightly chocolately and roasty dark malty background. Taste is sweet fruity, wheaty, minimally chocolately, notes of banana, pear, baked banana, a touch of honey, minimally alcoholic finish; soft and minimally sticky palate comes close to cloying. Well matching, rather unusual chocolately addendum, sadly lacking some yeasty spiciness. A good one nevertheless.
