[Bottle] Very dark black color with a light red shine.light brown head. Light malt aroma. Surprisingly low malt aroma or matly and hop flavor. Very well carbonized. Godd drinking beer, but nothing special.

50cl bottle, Sagasser Coburg. Pours a dark brown with a red hue and appetising solid creamy white head. Easy lager-style drinking, light mouthfeel, with not much upfront aroma, but an array of subtle and earthy hints of: slight roasted malts, caramel, raisin, walnuts, hop spice, liquorice developing in the back palate on the swallow, without lingering. Extra App. points for the confident literary-themed label.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2014 Gedronken bij Mahr?s Brau in Bamberg, bruine kleur, niet helder, beige/witte schuimkraag, ruikt naar mout, beetje drop, smaakt vooral naar mout.

Copper brown glowing body and creamy beige head. Quite light aroma, nutty, earthy, cereal and a light spice. Clean yeast. Light bitter, more pronounced taste profile. Good rounded, balanced character. So in the end it is still a very enjoyable beer, even though the aroma is somewhat dimmed and could use more roasted or hop character. (50cl bottle from Wasana’s Getränken Oase)

Bottle with many thanks from Günther. Pours out in a deep dark brown colour with low creamy head and medium body. Nose of malt and grass. Taste of dark roasted nuts, caramel, torf, malt, barley, roast, wood and pepper. Light hints of spices and roisins. Exotic fruity finish. Easy to drink, nice one.

Ein nettes, absolut von Malz dominiertes Dunkel, das ein klein an ein Weltenburger erinnert. Leicht nussig, schön malzig und mit etwas Karamell im Hintergrund. Echt nicht schlecht.

Bottle from the brewery, pours a clear dark brown with a thin off-white head, dark malt and a hint of cocoa and bread on the nose. Lightly nutty with touches of demerara and chocolate, roasty-dry yet with a slightly disconcerting sweet edge.
