Mahr’s Brau Ungespundet Hefetrub It pours with a big, creamy, long-lasting, head; has a golden-bronze color; a wonderfully fresh, perfumy; hop aroma; a remarkably smooth, almost oily, malty, palate; very fresh flavours; and a spritzy finish. It is beautifully balanced, but leans to the dry side. This is a delicious, appetising beer and a true taste of Germany’s fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.

Pours dark orange with a thick white head. Sweet, lightly fruity aroma (apricot and raisins). A bit sweet (but not to sweet) taste, with a little bitter aftertaste. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Sweetness and bitterness are beautifully balanced.

This landbier pours hazy golden with an amber tint. The head is thick like egg white foam. The aroma is grainy and little sweet. The flavor is very grain forward and sweet. If someone said take it or leave it, it would be a tough choice. The answer would be leave kellerbiers but take this one.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2015 Sampled in a 33cl stubby bottle from Selfridges as Mahrsbräu aU (sic). Thick, creamy white head and a golden bronze colour. Unfiltered. Beautiful aroma of bready malts and fruity hops. The taste is very full, with sweet malts and mildly bitter, fruity hops. Reminds me slightly of a less strong version of Duvel. Good mouthfeel with an almost oily presence. An excellent and extremely well-made beer.

Bevuta dalla botte alla Mahr’s. Colore ambra con fine schiuma bianca. Il profumo è erbaceo, mentre al palato si ha un’ esplosione di sapori : crosta di pane, miele.... una delle migliori birre mai bevute.

This is so crazy good!! Tap at Churchkey. Pours clear gold, some head and lots of lacing. Nose is fruity, apricot some pineapple, cheerios. Mout is light, lively carbonation. Notes of fruit, cereal maybe some dough. Tons of flavour in this lager for sure. Great stuff.
