oh6gdx (8794), Vasa, Finland Sep 10, 2009 Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fudge, caramel, Aroma is fudge, some berries and caramel malts. Flavour is malts, hops, some cardboard as well as a mild touch of fudge. Easy to drink, but yet quite tasteful. ruggedman (613), Portland, Maine, USA Mar 4, 2009 Bottle at Novare Res.
Ok so I made fun of this beer for being 2.8% long enough, time to actually try it. Well the pour looks clear and lightly aweful like i expected. The aroma was straw, grassy, light fruity and sweet. The flavor was wheat, malt, and caramelly. I cant believe such an easy drinking beer has such a powerful flavor. This is actually pretty nice, and supremely drinkable. The perfect beer to have when you’re not trying to get too drunk :) 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 26, 2009 Pours a very clear super light yellow, you could read a book through the other side of the glass, some small bubbles and a medium white frothy head, oh yea it looks like the picture. Very strong pungent over-ripe banana aroma with lots of grass and unmalted wheat, earthy and sweet. Wheaty flavor, a bit sweet and grainy that is unmasked because of the super light body, chalky, really nice malted flavor, yet still clean and quite crisp. Tastes almost a bit like Japanese rice beer. Long lasting bitter finish and aftertaste that seems similar to a Pilsner. Touch of banana and bread. Medium/light bodied with sparse crisp carbonation. Well crafted brew. If this were half a percentage higher in ABV it would be a Kristall Weizen. [MaltDawg said this beer doesn’t travel well or have a long shelf life... my bottle is almost a year old and I was worried about that... however it held up fine, no sourness at all] thornecb (1734), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours bright gold into a stein. Bright white head with excellent retention leaves no lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Malt aromas. Crisp and slightly bitter from front to finish. Clean and dry. Sour aftertaste. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Pale golden body, lots of sparkle, fluffy lasting white head; Amazing deep deep nose, spicy fresh with everything welcoming you, malt, hop and yeast, GREAT; Incredible body, big bubbled carbonation, bitting malt and hop bitter, super complex and very very well balanced; Super balanced lasting forever finish, bitterness from both malt and hop, spicy malt and green hop aromas, doughy yeast, but everything is so very very well balanced and composed. Heads up and hats of this beer is F..... amazing!!! DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Aug 9, 2008 (6/31/08) Bottle at the brewpub in Bamberg. Pale yellow with a collapsing white head. Aroma of grainy malt. A quite grainy flavor with some light bitter hoppiness in the finish. Light-bodied. Cletus (4999), Connecticut, USA Jul 30, 2008 Pours yellow with a nice white head. Smells of sweet malt, apples, honey, touches of pepper. Tastes crisp and dry with some decent fruity hints. porterhouse (1147), Alna, Maine, USA Jul 11, 2008 (500 ml bottle from Tully’s) Pours pale yellow with a slight haze. Two fingers of Marshmallow-Fluff-like white head. Aroma of fairly pungent honey, light bread and light pine. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth, although thin. Dryish esp. towards finish. Some broken rings of lacing. Flavor is fairly sweet and malty, mostly honeyish. Very light bready taste. A bit of pine towards finish which closes it out. Actually could feel a bit of the alcohol in this one, as I’d think the 2.8% is higher than most LA’s. Overall decent but a bit watery and timid.
