(Bottle). Judging from other reviews here, I must have sampled a non-fresh bottle. Mine was only a faint shadow of a good pils. There was some breadiness and some bitter hops, but they had to be searched for, and the overall impression was simply dull and flat. Hopefully, I’ll have the chance to update in the future with a fresh sample. 3-3-3-2-5 = 1.6 [Re-Rate] Tried a different bottle, which confirmed my suspicion that the original sample was well past its prime. This time I experienced a creditable Pilsenser, with appropriate malt, yeastiness, and a nice hops finish. Much better! 6-3-6-3-13 = 3.1

(6/31/08) Bottle at the brewpub in Bamberg. Clear yellow-golden with a white head. Aroma has some pale malt and some decent hoppiness. Flavor has some light malt sweetness but is mostly quite dry and hoppy and maybe slightly herbal. Medium-bodied. A decent Pils.

Golden with a huge, nice head. The aroma has notes of malt, flower and straw. The flavour has a light sweetness, smooth notes of malt, light caramel, flower and straw. The finish is citrussy. It’s incredibly well balanced and delicious, smooth and mild with a lot of nice details. I could drink a lot of this one.

50 cL bottle, trade with Maria. Pours clear and golden yellow with a dense, chalk white and creamy head. Clean and crisp hoppy aroma. Flavour is light metallic, nicely hopped wih a light bitter appearing. Subdued caramel sweet malt base, light corn note. Nicely balanced mix of sweet caramel malt and dry bitter hops finish.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, bread dough, spice and a light hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of straw and light spice with a crisp lightly bitter finish.

(500 ml bottle (bottled on "70 10") from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pours clear very pale yellow with a tall, kind of stiff and foamy white head. Aroma of some honey, some pine, maybe a little bread and a light trace of skunk. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth, dryish, pretty hefty for the style. Broken, patchy lacing. Flavor is mild honeyish malt with a bit of sourdough bread and a light piney bitter bite overlaying. Nothing great but a pretty good example of the style - no surprises.
