| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2002 Pleasing malt, not as austere as Warsteiner or Jever. Huge hop finish with profound bitterness which goes on for a long time. Good German Pils, but maybe a bit needlessly bitter. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Pours a very clear and bright yellow gold, topped by an inch of scruffy white foam. Minimal webby lacing. Strongish aroma - hops and slight skunk even from a distance.
No skunk in the flavor - smooth and creamy malt character, both sweet and delightfully dry. Spicy green hops are quite prominent, lingering long into the aftertaste.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Updated: Aug 17, 2008(Bottle). Judging from other reviews here, I must have sampled a non-fresh bottle. Mine was only a faint shadow of a good pils. There was some breadiness and some bitter hops, but they had to be searched for, and the overall impression was simply dull and flat. Hopefully, I’ll have the chance to update in the future with a fresh sample. 3-3-3-2-5 = 1.6
[Re-Rate] Tried a different bottle, which confirmed my suspicion that the original sample was well past its prime. This time I experienced a creditable Pilsenser, with appropriate malt, yeastiness, and a nice hops finish. Much better! 6-3-6-3-13 = 3.1

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2006 a delightfully hazy straw color with a crown of white foam on top, being fed constantly by a tiny stream of bubbles from within the liquid itself. typical mahr’s malt profile of wet grain, but some more grass and earth than the Mahr’s Hell - slightly chemical finish which i attribute to the german hops, but despite that slight hint of cleaning agent, it’s a very crisp and clean pilsener. more assertive and still more balanced than most other pilseners. troopie (916), USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Draught at ale house. Dreadful aroma of cough drops or insufficiently aged mead. That stink overrode a mild malty taste. No bitterness in the finish, slight taste of malt. Was this a bad keg or is Mahr’s always like this? I am always in search of good pilseners, but I would never drink this again. The best I can say is, it looked like a good pint of bier. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Updated: Oct 27, 2008500ml bottle, pours a clear straw gold with some effervescence, the pour turns hazy from sediment that is in the bottle, has a small white head that falls quickly, aroma of pilsner malt, bread and some malt sweetness, small citrus and faint grass fragrances, light flavor of pilsner malt and bread with a good bitterness and sour on the tongue, bitterness lingers a bit after the finish, more bitterness and citrus sour then I expected, has a medium mouth feel or a bit less, medium carbonation, not sure how fresh this sample is, it does not taste off but I wonder what a sample from the tap would taste like.
