4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a weizen glass. The label lists the abv at 5.6% and on the back there is a short description of the beer its use of Saphir hops. There is no freshness date however.
Appearance: The body has a heavy haze and a dark brownish amber color. It is full of yeast and at the bottom of the glass there are some small chunks of yeast sediment. Up on top it shows off a thick three to four finger tall, long lasting head. This head is off white in color with a few spots of brown yeast sediment. Lacing on the glass is slick and slides right down the sides as I drink.
Smell: The aroma has fruity yeast with loads of banana with a little spice and a hint of apple. Hop notes are faint and way off in the distance.
Taste/Palate: The flavor reflects the nose with loads of banana notes from yeast as well as some light clove, bubble gum and a touch of apple. Towards the end I notice more wheat bread and bubble gum notes and a light touch of hop spice and bitterness. The palate is smooth and a little thick or full feeling.
Notes: Overall it was a very tasty and enjoyable brew. The only thing it lacked was the look and feel and even that wasn’t a big detraction.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at churckey. Not a typical hefeweizen. In a blind tasting would have guessed this was an IPA. Wheat is noticibly, but a bright lemon citrus note is present that caught me a bit off guard. A bit grassy as well. Peculiar. Like a super happy pile wheat beer combo. Dry. Good enjoyed. A bit breads. Low carbonation. Thin body.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ home. Dark orange-yellow and hazy appearance with a light tan head. Some sediment dispersed in the body. Slightly darker wheat malts with a different hoppiness than most German Hefeweizen while still having the characteristic banana smell. Creamy mouthfeel. Lemon citrusy beer that’s a bit sour with wheat malts. Kind of a dull wheat aftertaste.

This is really a quite good hefeweizen. Quite a bit of hops, doesn’t seem all that wheaty. I’m not sure what the fruit is supposed to be, but mostly this is a light easy-drinking yet unique hefe. Yum.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
.5L Bottle. Pours a hazy amber body with a huge off white head. Sweet with wheat, cereal, hay and banana n bubble gum sweetness. Hoppy and drying with an earth, citrus, and banana finish. Tickling sweetness this is not one of my favorites.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle. medium orange and cloudy, white head, average retention. yeast in the nose is sharp and metallic to go with the artificial sweetener and generic fruit note that’s given by the hops. begins light, fluffy and creamy. turns quickly to heavily perfumed flowers and grapes, with a stinging, bitter bubble gum sharpness and acidity. the finish is especially unpleasant: tingling, acidic gum / hops / jolly rancher / aspartame. a hoppy weissbier that doesn’t work at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle. Poured into a weizen glass. A slightly different take on a Hefe. Color is a hazy copper /orange with a super thick head that had to sit a good 3 or 4 minutes before I could drink it. It also left some noticeable lacing. The smell is a standard hefe. Flavor is a rich and creamy ( I get roasted malt ) or is it bread pudding? ? caramel, and very light banana. The flavor really is rich. Medium bodied and a bit more carbonation then most others of the style. I get a very faint bitterness, however I don’t get any hops like the brewer suggests. There’s no expiration or code anywhere on the bottle, so it’s hard to tell how long it’s been sitting around. Overall a nice brew, If you have a chance pick one up.
