3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Wino’s. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Banana ester aroma. Lighter side of medium bodied with an earthy texture. Flavor of pale wheat malts with the banana bubble phenols, but not overpowering. The hops and clove really come out on the finish, almost creating somewhat of an off flavor.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma - some bubblegum and a bit of Hallertau hops,
Appearance - amber body, with nice nucleation. When the bottom yeast is rolled in the body is cloudy. The head is white and about 3", frothy and settles slowly.
Taste - nice caramel malt, bubblegum notes from the yeast, and Hallertau hops. The rolled in yeast adds some more bubblegum.
Palate - body is light, the texture is slightly creamy, the carbonation soft, and the finish tangy

Tallahassee, Fl - Beer Stop - 500 ml bottle. Sparkling, medium copper pour, faint bubbly off-white head that fades away quickly. Aroma has some clove accents, a bit of date and molasses sweetness. Flavor is similar in nature, kind of earthy, some clove accents, a bit of bubble gum. More in line with a Dunkelweizen than a Hefe, Mouthfeel is decently thick.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
(gusking) pours unclear medium dark golden orange with an aerial off-white head, disappearing and leaving no lacing per say. plain caramel, faint wheaty notes - lightly acidulated, brown sugar and barley, faint fruitiness - red berries, oranges; astringent and bitter grassy leafy hops, belgian spice-free feeling more than a hefe. lively and foamy carbonation, light body - watery; semi-sweet caramel and assertive woodsy-grassy finish. bottling issue aside, this fruity and wheaty hefe falls a bit short, morover regarding mahr’s high standards.
