3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 yngwie (8700) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 10, 2011
On tap at Ølbaren. An unclear, orange-yellow body is topped by a finger-thick, off-white to white head leaving lacings. The aroma has oranges, pale malts, cloves and a slight sickingly note I don’t recognize. The flavor starts with grainy pale malts and coriander. Some bitterness chimes in, as do the cloves and banana. Medium body, smooth and maybe a bit dry. Bitter and fruity finish. Not your ordinary hefeweizen, but quite tasteful anyway. Quenching too. 110527
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 corby112 (1862) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 28, 2011
Pours a cloudy goldn yellow color with a two finger, frothy white head that quickly fades into a thin ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind.
Spicy aroma with lots of clove and pepper along with some citrus fruit and bread. Hints of banana and lemon peel.
Crisp medium body with some soft carbonation up front followed by a huge zesty spice presence. Lots of pepper and clove flavor that is countered by a faint banana presence, bread and citrus rind. The bready yeast adds another dimension to the palate and the citrus presnce provides a sweet balance to the heavy spice character. Refreshing and easyto drink. Not the best example of the style but solid.

500 ml bottle. From bierzwerg.de.
Hazy bright yellow colour with small white head.
Wheat, grain, yeast and very mild fruitiness.
Dry wheaty, grainy and yeasty flavour. No balancing fruitiness in dry flavour. Bit of a disappointment.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mile (1219) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 1, 2011
Draught at brewery tap, Bamberg. Golden, hazy, small and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty – wheaty and sweetish aroma, some fruitiness and banana. Body is light to medium, malty – lightly wheaty and sweetish flavor, light fruitiness and banana. Finish is average, malty – lightly wheaty, lightly sweetish, faint banana. Light-bodied and sweetish hefeweizen - OK, but nothing special.
