At the brewery tap Rocky, creamy, white head - just like beaten egg-white, but not totally beaten. The head lasts fully. Murky, yellow body. Very lovely citrus aroma of citrus peels, lemon, ... The flavour in contrast seems to lack. Just somewhat sweet in the beginning. It’s not disgusting, but when you don’t have a lot of flavour, you can’t say it’s good either.

Huge foamy white head. Clear golden color. Something of the standard array of flavors you’d expect from this style, but no real depth. Maybe even slightly watery. Not to say this was absolutely awful, but there are definitely better choices out there, for sure.

Bottle. Nose is yeasty and skunky. Pour is a beery colored yellow with not much head. Flavor is reminiscent of store brand apple juice, watered down fruit juice but with a lemon twist. Some yeast, not much typical hefeweizen notes. This was pretty disappointed and actually was more closely related to an American Wheat rather than a German Hefeweizen.

Ah, if you want light and "refreshing" for the summer, this isn’t way off. But, if you want a hefe with some flavor, this ain’t it. Poured a pale yellow color with a very generous initial head. Lacing was ok, nothing great. The aroma was nil, very hard to pick up much more than you would a glass of water with a lemon (ie. light citrus). The flavor was hardly wheat-like, lots of water, some citrus, almost no banana or spicing. This was like a light hefe would be in the flavor and mouthfeel department. Disappointing overall.

(500 ml bottle, Bottled on 03-05: Obtained in 09-Jun-06 trade with Otter, thanks Jeremy!) I’m not positive if the bottling date is in MM-YY format, but I’m definitely leaning toward March, 2005 for this bottle because this Hefeweizen tastes bready and oxidized. Looking beyond that, the beer is modestly spicy and yeasty: some pepper, clove and banana, but not much. Some lemony citrus is present, and fortunately, it’s only mildly sweet. Medium-bodied, but lacks the clean, refreshing palate. Doughy, oxidized nose is not bad, but not enticing either. Dark golden-yellow and fully cloudy, but the head pours fairly small and then settles quickly to a thin ring. Not really all that good, but presumably due in part to not being a fresh sample. Still, given the flavors I’m tasting now, I don’t imagine this would be a solid Hefeweizen even if fresh.

Cloudy yellow beer with a white head. Wheaty sweet aroma and taste with a banana fruityness and a light citric note.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow with the usual big weisse head. Banana aromas and bubblegum notes. Sweet, rich banana flavours, with notes of clove. Good dry finish. Sparkling. A good hefeweizen.

Bottle. Milky yellow colour with a big white head. Yeasty, fruity, citrus aroma and taste. Medium body with a sparkeling, dry finish.
